💙 Calling all Old Mill riders! 💙

It would be lovely to get a table of Old Mill riders together to support our wonderful Riding for the Disabled group at their 50th Anniversary celebration! 🥂

I’ve actually listened to Paul’s talk about his incredible horseback adventure through Mongolia before, and I can honestly say it’s a fantastic talk and well worth coming along for!

At just £22 for a two-course meal and the talk, it’s a great evening out for a brilliant cause! 💛

Who’s up for joining us? It would be lovely to get a group together! 🥰

We’re delighted to welcome Paul Richards, who will be sharing his incredible adventure of riding 1,000 km across Mongolia on horseback! 🇲🇳🐎

Imagine travelling across the breathtaking Mongolian landscape on horseback – an adventure most of us can only dream of! Come along and hear all about his experiences, challenges and unforgettable memories.

It’s so much more than riding. Our members learn to care for ponies, work as a team, earn badges and achievements, develop practical skills and build genuine confidence and independence — while making friends and having a LOT of fun along the way! 🐴✨

We run two Pony Club sessions every Saturday:

🐴 Tiny Tots Pony Club | Ages 4–8

You don’t need your own pony, and Pony Club isn’t just for experienced riders. We welcome children who simply love horses and want to learn more. ❤️

HORSE WANTED - LOAN OR PURCHASE 🐴

We’re looking for a lovely horse to join us at Old Mill Stables and become a much-loved member of our team.

⭐ 15hh+
⭐ Preferably a gelding
⭐ A proper “leg in each corner” type – solid, sensible and straightforward
⭐ Sane and sensible with a kind temperament
⭐ Happy to consider an older horse
⭐ Very happy to consider horses with long-term ailments or medical history, providing they are comfortable, sound and happy in their work

We can offer an experienced, knowledgeable forever home with professional care, where the right horse will be extremely well looked after and genuinely valued.

Open to loan, long-term loan or purchase for the right horse.

Not every young person reaches their full potential sitting behind a desk.

At Old Mill Stables, Lelant Downs, we offer work-based learning placements in partnership with Haddon Training for young people aged 14+ with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

✨ Hands-on learning with horses
✨ A calm, supportive environment
✨ Build confidence, independence and life skills
✨ Recognised qualifications in Equestrianism
✨ 1, 2 & 3-day placement packages available

Our programme is designed for young people who benefit from an individually supported educational pathway.

Maximum rider weight: 13 stone

Come along on your own or grab a friend and start together. No previous experience needed.

Already ride? If you’re confident in walk, trot and canter and looking to get back in the saddle, we also have an adult group at 10am on Fridays.

🐴 SUMMER FAYRE & DOG SHOW – THIS SUNDAY! 🐶🎪
Come and join us at Old Mill Stables from 1pm for a fantastic family afternoon — and help raise vital funds for RDA South West Cornwall. 💚
Every cream tea, burger, tombola ticket and bit of fun helps support our RDA group and the life-changing opportunities it provides.
🌟 Thinking about riding? This is also the perfect chance for children to have an introductory pony ride, meet our lovely ponies and discover what riding at Old Mill Stables is all about. We’d love to welcome some new faces and future riders!
Our RDA stand will be there too, so come and chat to us if you’re interested in volunteering, know someone who might benefit from becoming an RDA rider, or simply want to find out more about what we do.
