🥕🥦 O L I V E R ' S V E G E T A B L E S🫛🧅

🐝 After reading the story, we headed to the farm to look at the vegetables growing in the market garden.

🐝 Then we visited the farm shop to buy some of the vegetables that feature in the story.

🐝 We used our montessori wavy chopper to cut up the vegetables.

🐝 And finally we enjoyed a delicious vegetable soup!

The best dog in the world!

🐝 All the children look forward to seeing Honey when they arrive 😁

🐝 If ever anyone feels a little upset, a 'Honey cuddle' is usually just what they need.

🐝 The children are always excited to take Honey for a walk around the village...and disappointed if she doesn't come!

🐝 She can mostly be found sleeping in her bed on her back for around 23 hours a day😂

🐝 Role play (first picture they were pretending the branch was a horse!)

This week we decided to go with flow, not make any real plans apart from spend time outside, getting fresh air and noticing nature 🐞🐝🐜🦋🪲🐌

Happy Father's Day, I hope the daddies enjoyed thier cards and shortbread biscuits!
Painting the feet of my two boys was tricky enough but to stage the same photos with one year olds took some patience and perserverance 🤣

📚 Our Home Library 📚

I attended an online workshop a few weeks ago run by the Cornwall Early Education Service and the National Literacy Trust called 'Reading at home: Strengthening partnerships with parents'.

As a result I have set up a home library system (still a work in progress) so all the children have access to a range of different books to share at home with their families. I was also given a £100 voucher to spend on some new books for our setting!

So I placed an order with the lovely and they have arrived and been added to our collection. 'The story of the little mole who knew that it was none of his business' is now a firm favourite with my children as it is all about 💩 🤣

🇬🇧 What an incredibly busy week celebrating the King's Coronation! 🇬🇧🤴

🐝 The week began with a train journey to St Ives to build sandcastles... well I built sandcastles and the children had great fun knocking them down!

🐝 Followed by crown making and a visit from my mum who helped us make scones. Some were flatter than others due to some heavy patters 😂

🐝 We ended the week with a lovely little coronation tea party with children and their parents enjoying the scones they had made.

Unfortunately I was so busy that I failed to take many photos at all 🙈

🐝 What a lovely couple of weeks we've had!

🐝 We've made the most of the outdoors visiting and

🐝 We've done barefoot trails, egg and spoon races, planted seeds, collected blossom and made Easter egg decorations.

I will miss my two little helpers when they go back to school next week!

🪺 N E S T S 🪺

🐝 We searched for nests on our daily trips out. The children found weaver bird nests hanging from the netting at Paradise Park. They found crows nests in the trees opposite my house and we even watched a moorhen building her nest in the pond at Tehidy Woods.

🐝 We enjoyed books about nests

🐝 The children loved searching for garden birds hiding in the nest of cooked spaghetti!

🐝 And what nest project would be complete without making chocolate shredded wheat nests? 😋
