When should your child stay home from school? 🏫🤒

Knowing when to keep your child off school can be tricky! As a general rule, if they have minor symptoms like a mild cold, runny nose, or a slight cough, they can still come to school.

Stay home if they have:

A high temperature

Vomiting or diarrhoea

Infectious conditions like chickenpox

Why attendance matters for their future: Missing just 2 days a month equals 10% of the school year. Over time, frequent absences make it harder for children to keep up with learning, maintain close friendships, and build strong routines. Good attendance helps children feel confident, connected, and ready for future success!

If you are ever unsure, check the official NHS guidance or contact the school office — we are always here to support you and your family. 💙

✨ Staff Wellbeing in Action at GNSMAT ✨
With temperatures soaring this week, we wanted to show our appreciation for our dedicated team who continue to go above and beyond for our students.

Today, all GNSMAT staff were treated to ice creams to help them stay cool and take a refreshing break during the heatwave. 🍦☀️

Looking after the wellbeing of our staff is central to our culture, especially during challenging weather conditions. Thank you to everyone for your continued hard work and positive spirit!

ThankYou

We were blessed to have our children and staff take part in an all day Shabad Jaap & Kirtan across Guru Nanak Sikh Academy and Nanaksar Primary, remembering the supreme sacrifice of Dhan Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj and reflecting on Guru Sahib Ji’s teachings of resilience, compassion, humility, and seva.

Our GNSA Primary and Nanaksar Primary pupils also lovingly held a Shabeel after school, in honour of Dhan Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj, sharing the values of kindness, selfless service, and Sarbat Da Bhala with the community
