Well done to all of our little bookworms who have joined the summer reading challenge! Can we make it any higher up the leader board?

📚 There’s still time to join the FREE Summer Reading Challenge! 🎶

This year’s theme is ‘Read to the Beat’, and children can sign up at any St Helens library. We’re especially lucky to have the newly refurbished Haydock Library right on our doorstep, so why not pop in and take a look?

The challenge is completely free to enter. Children just need to be library members to take part, and a parent or carer can help them join if they aren’t already a member.

Reading is so much more than a school skill. It supports children’s learning, imagination and emotional regulation, while giving them a chance to relax, escape into another world and discover something they love.

A few books over the summer can make a real difference — and the challenge is a lovely way to keep children reading while they’re away from school. 📖✨

📚🎵 Read to the Beat School Leaderboard Update! 🎵📚

The competition is heating up in the Summer Reading Challenge 2026! 🌟

🥇 Bleak Hill Primary holds on to 1st place
🥈 St Peter's CE Primary stays strong in 2nd
🚀 Legh Vale Primary is this week's biggest climber, jumping 5 places from 8th to 3rd!

A huge well done to everyone taking part so far! 👏

Not on the leaderboard yet? There's still time to get involved. Join the Summer Reading Challenge, read 4 library books this summer, and help your school climb the rankings! 📖🎶

The children will only be released when all the bags are off. The children can't wait to tell you about their adventure!!
