We are urging parents and carers to speak with their children about the dangers of taking part in a social media trend which involves entering or attempting to enter strangers' homes under the guise of asking for a house tour.

While some young people may see it as a prank or harmless online challenge, the reality is that this behaviour can have serious consequences for everyone involved.

We are aware of reports of children trying door handles and entering properties without permission.

In an incident reported to us yesterday, two children allegedly attempted to enter an elderly man's home in the Lincoln area. When the occupant refused entry and tried to close the door, the children reportedly continued to push against it, causing injury to the man.

This type of behaviour is not a joke. It can frighten residents, particularly elderly or vulnerable people, who may believe someone is attempting to break into their home. It can also result in injuries and damage to property.

Parents should be aware that children taking part in these trends may be putting themselves at risk too. They do not know who may be inside a property, how an occupant may react, or what situation they may be walking into.

We would encourage parents and carers to have conversations with their children about responsible social media use and the dangers of copying online trends without considering the potential consequences.

Entering someone's property without permission, or attempting to do so, can lead to police involvement and may have serious repercussions.

This trend is of significant concern, and it is vital that we act now to prevent it from becoming more widespread across our communities. We would ask anyone who becomes aware of children taking part in this activity to speak to them about the risks and remind them that what may seem amusing online can have very real consequences for others.

Everyone has the right to feel safe in their own home, and we are asking parents, carers and young people to help us ensure that remains the case.

We had a wonderful stay and play session this morning to celebrate the end of the school year and to wish the rising 5s all the best on their next adventure at big school 🥳

Thank you for our gifts and cards, we will enjoy eating the cakes, biscuits and chocolates over the summer! 🧁

We would like to say a big thank you to you all for choosing us to look after your children, it’s an honour and a privilege to watch them grow 💛 This has been our busiest school year since before 2020 and it’s been wonderful to have so many children join us.

We will miss each of the children who are moving on and look forward to welcoming the rest of you back on Thursday 3rd September.

1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣ We have been learning while keeping as cool as possible this week, with lots of activities set up in the shade outside and focussed activities to help engage and slow the children down inside ☀️☀️☀️

🎾 The children enjoyed strawberries and cream/dairy alternative on Monday for snack after some fun with our tennis bats and balls as we talked about Wimbledon 🎾

Getting ready for big school!

We have had an action-packed week with sports day activities each day, including sack races, egg and spoon races and bean bag balancing. On Thursday, we took the rising 5s to Haxey Primary School to watch their sports day. The preschoolers were fantastic and enjoyed spotting children they knew as well as some siblings - we all cheered them on! 🥳

We’ve been taking about the similarities of preschool and big school; the routines, play times and friends - plus lots more learning and many more friends. Some children said they’re excited to learn to read, while others were excited to make new friends 🥰

☀️ Keeping Cool ☀️

This week we have mostly been trying to keep cool, whilst learning about staying safe in the sun and keeping hydrated. Lots of water play, outside early and inside by 11am to avoid the peak UV time, then outside again after 2pm. The children have coped amazingly well and have thoroughly enjoyed getting wet and mucky every day 😄 We've had treats of jelly and ice pops for extra hydration, too!

The children also enjoyed making Rangoli patterns using pasta, rice and glitter while we talked about the celebration of Eid and being kind to one another.
