Weald Tutoring Hawkhurst

We were really proud to be a sponsor of this fabulous community event.

We were delighted to take our ‘Big Cheque’ to the Hawkhurst Brownies earlier this week. As further recipients of funds raised at this year’s The Hawkhurst 5&10km 2026, Brown Owl informed us that they have purchased new ceremonial flags and replaced damaged items from a cupboard affected by a roof leak. We look forward to seeing them at the Remembrance Day Parade!
Thanks to another of our sponsors, Sally from Weald Tutoring Hawkhurst, pictured with Committee member Jenny and RunTeam representative, Sara.
We look forward to making our final presentation to the Cubs later this month!
And entries for the Hawkhurst 5&10km 2027 are now live! Take advantage of Early Bird pricing at https://www.nice-work.org.uk/e/hawkhurst-10k-and-5k-9426

We are delighted to be a sponsor of the Hawkhurst 5k & 10k run.

Sunday is Runday and we’re starting the countdown to The Hawkhurst 5&10km 2026 !
Secure your place now and target that training! We are so grateful to all our lovely supporters and sponsors. This week we dropped leaflets at The Eight Bells Country Pub and Kitchen who are offering a free half pint to all finishers, and we spoke with lovely Gabriella at Serida Fitness Gym, Health & Fitness Hub who is leading our warm up and providing prizes!
We are super lucky to have two new sponsors this year, both local small businesses…
Weald Tutoring Hawkhurst will help your child become a happier, more confident learner. Offering tuition in Maths, English, 11+, SEND and GCSE, husband and wife team Sally (also one of our WI members!) and Simon have over 50 years of combined teaching experience and have been based at Hawkhurst Fish Farm since 2015.
Another lovely WI member, Karen, is co-owner of Hallett's Helping Hands a small business offering Airbnb, end of tenancy and deep clean services and other cleaning requirements. Karen is amazing and recently walked the length of Hadrian’s Wall, raising nearly £3,000 for Hospice in the Weald… and carrying her WI tea towel!!
We are so grateful for the support of these two small companies and look forward to seeing them, and their clients on the Start Line in June!

FORMULA FRIDAY
This week it's the area of a circle, which is A = πr^2
Scientific calculators make the sum an easy one, use the pi button. Many years ago, before calculators became cheaper, you would use 3.142 or 22/7 as close estimates!
