🌟 World Champion! 🌟
Everyone at Stirches Primary School is absolutely thrilled to congratulate Jossy on becoming WKO Open World Champion in his Light Contact category. 🥊🏆
This is an incredible achievement, but what makes us even prouder is the young person Jossy has become. He is humble, kind, encouraging and always willing to support others. He has been a wonderful role model throughout his time at Stirches, and we know he will continue to inspire those around him as he begins his next chapter at high school.
Congratulations, Jossy! You have done yourself, your family, your club and the whole Stirches community proud. We wish you every success for the future and can't wait to see what you achieve next.

💚 A Heartfelt Thank You from Stirches Primary School 💚
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Shaun Connelly Decor, Ben Shiel and Decorating Centre hawick for their incredible generosity and kindness towards our school.
Shaun Connelly Decor is donating his time and expertise completely free of charge, with the valued help of Ben Shiel, to redecorate our staff room and entrance hall. In addition, Crown Decorating Centres Hawick have very generously donated all of the paint and decorating materials, making this wonderful transformation possible.
Their support will have a lasting impact on our school environment, creating brighter, more welcoming spaces for our staff, children and visitors to enjoy.
At Stirches Primary School, we are incredibly proud of the strong relationships we have with our local community. Acts of kindness like this remind us just how fortunate we are to be surrounded by people and businesses who genuinely care about our school and our children.
This generosity reflects everything we value at Stirches through our REACH values – Respect, Encouragement, Achievement, Care and Happiness. Together, we are creating a school where everyone feels valued, supported and inspired.

Yesterday, we said goodbye to our fabulous Primary 7 pupils as they celebrated their final day at school. The children shared memories, achievements and special moments during their Leavers’ Assembly, reflecting on their journey through primary school and all they have accomplished. Family, friends and staff were proud to join in the celebrations and wish them well for the future. To mark the end of this important chapter, the pupils were piped out of school by our fantastic piper Ben, as pupils, staff and parents cheered them on. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them and look forward to hearing about their future successes as they begin their next adventure.🥰😌

Yesterday we held our end-of-year prize giving. It was a lovely opportunity to recognise the hard work, achievements and effort shown by all pupils throughout the year. Children were recognised for their hard work, positive attitudes, creativity, sportsmanship and kindness, while families and staff came together to share in their accomplishments. The event provided a lovely opportunity to reflect on a successful year and to congratulate all pupils on their progress and dedication.

This year saw Hayley Thomson being awarded our Gaynor Small Citizenship Award; Scott Wilson and Jossy Hedley jointly awarded the Stirches Sportsmanship Award; Ruby Nichol received the Linda Deeks Shining Star Award; Emilia Wachnik received the Chysties Quaich Art Award and finally Harris Morrison was awarded the Carruthers Cup Head Teacher’s Award.

Also pictured are this year’s House and Vice Captains and Junior Road Safety officers who we thanked for their hard work throughout the year. In addition, this year we recognised some Rising Stars from our younger classes. This award celebrates effort, determination and personal development.

💙 A Huge Thank You to Our Amazing Parent Fundraising Group! 💙
As another fantastic school year comes to an end, we'd like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful Parent Fundraising Group for their incredible generosity in helping to fund our end-of-term school trips. 🌟
Thanks to your support, our children have enjoyed some truly memorable experiences:
🐉 P1–P3 had a magical day at the Sands Centre watching the brilliant performance of Zog.
🏛️ P4–P6 travelled to Edinburgh to explore the fascinating National Museum of Scotland, discovering everything from dinosaurs to space and Scottish history.
🎉 And of course, our P7s rounded off their time at Stirches with laser tag in the afternoon and a fantastic end-of-year celebration – a special evening full of laughter, dancing and wonderful memories.
These experiences are so much more than just trips. They create lasting memories, inspire curiosity, build friendships and give our children opportunities they will remember for years to come.
Your hard work throughout the year, organising events and raising funds, has made all of this possible. On behalf of all the staff and pupils at Stirches Primary School, thank you for everything you do. We are incredibly grateful for your continued support. 💙
