Cheeky Monkeys Cheeky Monkeys is an Out of School Club where we provide care, learning and activities for children age 3- 12 years from Hawick and the surrounding area.

Out of School Club offering breakfast, after school and holiday club. We care for children aged 3-12 years while offering a variety of activities for them to experience and learn from. Breakfast club 7.30am-8.50am
After school Mon - thur 3.20pm-6pm
After school fri 12.30pm-6pm
Holiday and in-service days 7.30am - 6pm

We have had another excellent last full week of summer club

Monday- the children done amazing walking from the club to Heart of Hawick to watch Moana the live action film and then walking back again. A massive thank you to Lauren at Heart of Hawick for allowing us to come watch for free 🥰🌊

Tuesday- we had Fraser from Bright Green Nature visit to walk around the forest area to give us ideas and discuss how we can enhance the area for nature and to encourage the childrens learning by adding items such as a bog garden, sensory plants etc 🪱🪻🐛

Wednesday- we had a visit from Richard Common to play his accordion and do some singing and dancing 🎶🪗

Thursday- we spent most of the day up the forest exploring and adventuring up and in the trees. We got very messy 🫣🌲🍃 lots of dicussion about the eclipse and who had been watching it 🌖

Friday- we had a lovely visit to Deanfield to play games and colour in. Lots of chatting and laughing and the children were all excited with the balloons

Round about these we have had lots of water play fun, crafting & creating, zooming on the bikes, gymnastics, role playing being babies and building lego plus much more

Week 5 flew by

We have had another fab week and even the wetter weather hasn't stopped the fun

Lots of puddle jumping, problem solving gazebo building, den building and gymnastics on the mats. Sticky slime in the water trays and creating in the mud kitchen

Lots of animal role playing inside , drumming session, water play, hand painted animals and free drawing

Some of the children have helped to feed the school axolotls and we had to clean the tank as it was a bit yucky

We finished off our week on our last bus trip to Edinburgh Zoo - amazing time and we all came back knackered. Such a brilliant day and we never even got round all the park before hometime 🐆🦓🦒🦩

Week 4 done ✔️

Another fab week- even if we have had a little bit rain , its not stopped us

Lots of fun in the forest making dens & horse jumps or climbing the trees. Zooming about playing tig and lots of lovely types of coffees made in the mud kitchen along with planting some seeds. The children have been very risk aware when using the new archery set to make sure everyone was as safe as they could be (especially when we are still practicing our aiming)

Inside we have had marble run and tall tower creations , very safe helpers making our snack, the smoothies and ice cream making challenges were a hit and lots of lovely shared conversations

Berry picking & Lilliardsedge playpark trip was a hit- the children enjoyed eating lots and bought some for our friends at the club to taste .

1/2 way through the hols 🥳

We have had another busy week with some new people also joining us

Lots of playing outside in the lovely weather- everyone still enjoying creating in the mud kitchen cafe , playing up in the forest and making a stage with a show

Inside the children have been chilling with films and the xbox, loving getting dizzy on the spinning chair, lego has been everywhere and taking care of the babies

Our trip on Wednesday to East Links Farm Park was thoroughly enjoyed by all and very tired from all the jumping and zooming about

Some children were very responsible and came across to feed the school axolotls 🪱which led to a bigbdiscussion on our pets and how everyone has different types and how they look after them

Wonderful week 2 🥳

We had a trip to Keilder, barefoot walking challenge which the children thoroughly enjoyed (except for the wheetabix) , a visit from Lorraine at Tesco showing us how much sugar was in our food and drinks, and a walk up the park & museum

Lots of playing inside and out- den building, making smores, our wheely day to doing our nails, hairdressers and lots of crafting and painting

Slight change to our plans with our river paddle being a water splash fun instead and the bug hunting got waylaid by games of tig and hide & seek in the forest 😆 children's choices listen to 🥰

A fab & yummy morning 😋

Lots of talk about how much sugar is in foods we eat and drink 🫣 love how this continued on to lunch where they were all checking lunch box items - some of these shocked us

Many of our older children also attend Escape Youth Services 🥰
Gutted that sessions are being cut but funding is so hard to get with so many places applying for limited amounts

🤞 more funding comes up that can help them

Wonderful Week 1 🥰

From starting Monday with a trip to Coldingham beach, thursday water splash fun day to friday library visit with lots of creativity on the way

We have enjoyed the sunshine with lots of outdoor adventuring in the forest, mud kitchen, painting and playing

Indoors has been busy with the craft table making shell necklaces, preparing our snacks, sand & water play and lots more all childrens choices 🥳
