Well done to Olek, Marley, Erin, Beau and Freja for taking part in the Youth Mock Debate at the Scottish Borders Council Chambers! 👏 A fantastic opportunity to share ideas, have your voices heard and learn more about local democracy. You should all be very proud!

S6 pupils from across the Scottish Borders stepped into the Council Chambers for a hands-on lesson in local democracy. After a presentation from our Active Travel Team, they took part in a Youth Mock Debate, met elected members and explored how to shape their communities through the CLD-led My Community, My Voice workshop.

The event gave young people an opportunity to debate, influence decisions and exercise their right to be heard. Thank you to every pupil, school, elected member and colleague who made the day possible.

Wishing Helen a very happy retirement! ✨

After an incredible 20 years at Hawick High School as an Additional Needs Assistant, we would like to wish Helen Hart a long, happy and well deserved retirement.

Helen has spent much of her time working with pupils in the Enhanced Provision, where her friendly nature, kindness and fun approach have made such a positive difference - she will be very much missed by pupils and staff ❤️

We hope Helen enjoys having lots more time to spend with her lovely grandchildren, and I’m sure we’ll still spot her out and about on her bike around the town! 🚲

Thank you for everything, Helen, and enjoy every minute of your retirement! 👏
