It was fantastic to see our Early Career Teachers engaging, connecting and learning at their first conference of the year.

From sharing ideas to discovering new approaches, they embraced every opportunity to develop their practice and grow as educators.

We’re proud to support our ECTs as they continue to learn, reflect and build their confidence as teachers.

📚✨ We’re recruiting - Head of English and Whole-School Literacy

Could you lead the next chapter for English at Felixstowe School?

English has made significant progress and we’re incredibly proud of the hard work of our students and staff. Now we’re looking for an inspiring leader to build on that momentum and take an ambitious department even further.

We want someone who loves English and can inspire that love in others - someone who believes in brilliant books, beautiful writing, big ideas, creativity and the power of young people finding their voice.

Creativity matters at Felixstowe School. Music is flourishing, drama is strong, our performing arts are growing, and we want English to sit proudly at the heart of that creative culture.

This is also a significant whole-school role. Our new Head of English will lead our work on literacy, reading, writing, vocabulary and oracy - helping every student develop the confidence and command of language they need to succeed across the curriculum and beyond.

You might already be a Head of English looking for your next challenge, or an excellent second in department ready to take that next step.

💙 Come and see us. Meet our students and staff, experience the school for yourself and find out why we think this is a really exciting time to join Felixstowe.
