Mr Wolf’s Pancakes by Jan Fearnley Author/illustrator/Optimist is the obvious focus for this week!

Here at our Norton Road site the children have absolutely loved the story. They were just as eager as the characters in the story to enjoy some delicious pancakes when they could smell them cooking!🥞

A few things we’ve enjoyed this week are; pancake themed messy tuft trays, making pancake batter and still life lemon painting 🍋 and, we’re only two days into the week!

We’re excited to see what the rest of the week has planned.

Unity Stars Nurseries is growing and so is our team! 🎉 After the successful launch of our new Norton Road nursery site (opened September 2025) in Haverhill, we’re recruiting Early Years Practitioners who are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and families.

At Unity Stars, we provide remarkable care and early education for children aged 0–4 in a warm, home-from-home environment where children can learn, explore and flourish every day. Our evidence-led curriculum and nurturing approach help young learners thrive socially, emotionally and academically.
Since opening, we’ve welcomed more children and families than ever, and as our nursery community continues to grow, our staff team needs to grow too 💙

🎄What a festive way to draw 2025 to a close at our Norton Road site.
From planning and preparing for our second nursery earlier in the year to, opening our doors in September to children. Then, ending 2025 by inviting our families in to share Christmas dinner with us.
It was wonderful to share this delicious mealtime with our families and to end the afternoon with a special visit from a very busy someone.🎅
We can’t thank our parents enough for all of their support from when we opened, for attending our Christmas dinner and all the big and small moments in between. Thank you to Nursery Kitchen for the delicious dinner! It was enjoyed by all!
The team are having a well deserved break and are in the festive spirit getting ready for what 2026 is going to bring.

This week at Norton Road we’ve been busy getting ready for Christmas. We’ve created our own decorations and used these and other to decorate our trees! We’ve enjoyed singing along to Christmas rhymes and reading Christmas stories like, Little Robin Red Vest and Christmas Stories by Luana Rinaldo.

What an amazing day!
On Saturday we celebrated our Norton Road’s site opening with a special ribbon cutting by the Mayor - Councillor Quinn Cox, plus the most delicious cupcakes kindly provided by the wonderful The Iced Gem
A huge thank you to our colleagues and families who came along to support us. Your enthusiasm, kindness and encouragement means the world to us.
Our nursery has been open since September and, this event truly marks the start of an exciting journey ahead. We are so grateful for the families who are already part of Unity Stars - Norton Road and, we cannot wait to welcome even more little ones through our doors!
Here’s to new beginnings, happy learning, and a bright future together!

We’d love to invite you and your family to our Open Event at Unity Stars Norton Road!

Our newest nursery is already buzzing with happy little learners, and we can’t wait to share it with you!
Come along to explore the space, meet our friendly team, and see what makes our nursery such a warm and inspiring place for children to grow.

It’ll be a lovely opportunity to chat with staff and other local families, enjoy some refreshments, and let the little ones play and explore.
