Volunteers needed: Hi everyone, hope you don't mind me using this old page but Chalksters is in rather desperate need for some volunteers! If any of you might have some time to help it would be wonderful if you could get in touch with Honor At Home-Start and she can give you more details.

One key thing is that we can't volunteer with our child there due to insurance etc- which is why I'm stepping back as I'm going on a 6 month work break to look after Jonah full time... so I'll be there as a parent instead! :) But I thought as quite a few of your little ones have moved on to school or nursery there might be some of you out there that might be up for coming back as a volunteer!

Hi Chalksters families,

It’s been a long time! The last time I saw you all I was about half way through my pregnancy … and now we have an 11 month old son (forgive me for the attached evidence)!! We hope you’re all doing really well and we’ve missed you over this time.

I know that many of our families will have moved on to nursery or even school by now. If this is you, please comment with your name or even a photo so that we can say goodbye! ❤ If you’re happy to stay on this page, we would love to stay in touch with you, particularly as we’re likely to run activities over the holidays or after school or things for parents from time to time- let us know if you have any ideas for things for children or caregivers that we could look into doing.

For those who are still able to come to groups, we have some exciting news🎉: from this Thursday 10th June we’re going to be teaming up with Honor from Homestart to get Chalksters up and running again!

Homestart are a brilliant charity that support families with you children and I’m sure many of you already know Honor. Homestart are going to be running the toddler group and we’ll be supporting them, which is wonderful as it enables the group to begin again despite our reduced volunteers and now that I’m part time.

In most ways, it will look very similar to before: same place, same time at 10:30am Thursdays at the Chalkstone Community Centre. However, we will be running in line with the restrictions in place. At the moment that means that we only have 15 places each week and we will need you to book in.

KEEP UP TO DATE: All of the group posts and information will now be put on Homestarts page- please add https://www.facebook.com/honor.homestart as a friend to keep up to date. She is releasing the booking details on her page today.

THIS PAGE: As we would love to stay in touch with you, particularly for any other activities, I’m going to change the name of this page to Chalksters 2019-2020 for now, though feel free to leave if you would rather.

UPDATE: Chalksters cancelled this Thursday. After this evening's briefing we have decided to stop Chalksters until further notice. Please keep an eye on this group for further updates!

POSTPONED!! Mothers Day Tea Party

Well, a lot can change in a week! As you might have been expecting, we've decided to postpone the parent's tea party celebration until a later date due to the recent Coronavirus developments.

We will still have Chalksters as usual this Thursday morning but felt that we should avoid sitting down together to share food as planned for now. Please don't come in if you or your child have any cold or flu symptoms to keep everyone safe.

This Thursday will be the last Chalksters for a month. We're planning to be back on the 23rd April, but check this fb group for updates as the situation develops.

🎉We're having a party next week!🎉 With Mother's day coming up, we would love to celebrate each of our parents (and grandparents and caregivers) and all that they do :)

Normal time (but free!) 10:30-12:00. There will be a tea party and treats, photo booth, kids craft and all the usual toys and activities.

This will be our last session for a while- we will be back after the school holidays on April 23rd.

Chalksters cancelled tomorrow!!!

I'm really sorry everyone, I'm (Amy) still ill and have had to make the call not to run Chalksters tomorrow. Sorry! Please spread the news.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm spending the time off planning some nice treats for the Thursday 19th before Mother's day! :)
