Learning doesn't have to happen in the classroom, there's lots to learn from real life experiences too. Today we had a little trip to a local coffee shop. The children were very happy with their babycinos and it's always lovely when strangers comment on how lovely and well behaved the children are ☺️ from experiences like this, children are able to develop their personal, social and emotion development, communication and language and physical development. We were learning how to behave in social situations, safety around hot drinks and cutlery, how to have conversations with each other, using our hand eye coordination to drink full drinks from open cups, all whilst trying a new experience with our friends. We are already looking forward to another trip sometime soon!

We had another busy week last week. We are enjoying the lovely weather and all the park trips, getting to explore the outdoors and really show off how our gross motor skills are developing, climbing and jumping! The children are all loving the latest addition, Chewie the hamster! It's a great way to teach the children empathy and being gentle. They've also enjoyed getting messy in the mud kitchen, using their imagination to make mud tattoos and potions as well as planting some lovely colourful flowers to brighten up the garden and help our very important bees. A great opportunity to learn about how the world works. We've also been practicing using scissors. They're a tricky skill to learn so the more we practice, the better we get and improve our fine motor skills and hand eye coordination and the easier it will get ☺️

It's been a busy Easter Holidays at Nanny Netty Childminding ! We've been crafting, planting, gymnastics, farm visit, first picnics of the year and much more! The children have very much enjoyed the sunshine we've had and all the extra fresh air we've been able to get as a result. The children got to meet some animals and learn how to handle them. Their gross motor skills have been very well used with lots of climbing and jumping around gymnastics and the parks as well as a few mini discos at home. We look forward to seeing how our tomatoes grow along with our potatoes from the other day and don't forget tasting them. Next month, cucumbers! We have some availability coming up in September for a Tues, Thurs and Fri space. If you know anyone looking for a childminder, don't forget to tag them/send them my page!

It is soon coming to the time of year when some little ones move onto their next adventure! 🎓 This means from September, I have some availability coming up.
At Nanny Netty's Childminding, we pride ourselves on being a "home-from-home" setting. Here, children don't just learn and grow—they become part of the family, take part in real-life experiences, and (most importantly!) have a lot of fun. National Picnic Day today and what better way to celebrate than a lovely little picnic and play at a local National Trust. We even got to get close to some sheep and their lambs and enjoyed a play in the play area, sharing and taking turns with friends and mark making with sticks on our woodland walk.
