Gwasanaeth Cerdd Sir Benfro / Pembrokeshire Music Service Our Music Service is committed to supporting and enhancing the work of schools in bringing the experience and enjoyment of music making to young people.

The Pembrokeshire County Council Music Service currently teachers over 2,300 pupils each week on a wide variety of string, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments in the county’s primary and secondary schools. Also 150 pupils receive tuition in singing. In addition, the service extends the work of schools by running weekly rehearsals for 7 primary school ensembles operating within families of s

chools and also 5 county orchestras and bands at secondary level. Courses are also held for brass band, jazz ensembles, cello ensemble and county choir. Each of these groups publically perform in a showcase concert each term. In recent years, Pembrokeshire ensembles have represented Wales in the National Festival of Music for Youth in Birmingham. Pembrokeshire young musicians also go on to represent the county in the regional and national ensembles of Wales, Britain and Europe. The Music Service actively promotes the enjoyment of music and music making having a positive effect on all aspects of the student’s learning and social behaviour.
