Learn to ride or improve your riding skills in a fun, safe & happy environment. We have a large number of horses & ponies suitable for all ages & abilities

As a family run business established in 1978 we pride ourselves on offering a friendly and happy environment in which to learn to ride. With an indoor and outdoor arena we are able to continue with planned lessons and activities come rain or shine. We have a large number of horses and ponies suitable for novices and those more experienced riders. We are a BHS approved centre. We offer a range of lesson plans from Individual lessons, small group lessons and hacks through beautiful woodland and open farmland with views across to Treffgarne and Plumbstone Mountain. We also offer children the chance to stay for half a day or a full day where they can learn about the care of the ponies and stable management, as well as the riding. **currently unavailable due to Covid restrictions. We are a Pony Club Centre which offers those children without their own pony the opportunity to become a member of the Pony Club and work towards their achievement badges on one of our ponies. We are also an RDA Centre catering for those with more specific needs and requirements in a safe and controlled environment. Please give us a call to discuss your individual requirements.

Hello! I am pleased to say that my operation is over with and looks to have gone well 🤞 My recovery seems very slow to me but I am assured that I am progressing normally …I’m just VERY impatient 🫣 I am hopeful that I will be back on the yard in the not-so-distant future! I am so grateful to everyone who has offered their help and support to both Me and Mum over the last month and of course to the wonderful Bowlings team that have kept the ball rolling! Thank you all!

So October half term is nearly here! We will be open as follows:

Sat 24th Oct - normal lessons

Tues 27th Oct:
AM-beginner one off riding lessons & regular rider beginner lessons
PM- Show jumping afternoon for regular riders who can walk, trot & canter off the lead

Weds 28th Oct:
AM - PC Morning. - members only please see closed group for details

PM- beginner lessons

Evening - Regular Rider adult lessons

Sat 31st - normal lessons….maybe with a spooky fun theme 🎃🎃🎃

Indoor school surface revamp complete!
This time last week I was slightly twitchy that we’d bitten off more than we could chew but Will
(WB Contracting) and his team have gone at lightning speed to get the job done so we are ready for lessons tomorrow!
The boards will be painted in the coming weeks then it will be fresh and ready for the winter.
Hugest thank you to my Mum for organising everything this week, the stress levels have been high I know but she really has been amazing!
I am disappointed that I won’t be able to teach or ride on the new surface for a while whilst I take an enforced break to sort out my health but I hope to be back as soon as I can!
I leave you in the capable hands of Mum, Libby & the rest of the Bowlings team.

Attention Saturday riders!
Please approach with caution tomorrow, the car parking space is reduced as our new indoor school riding surface has arrived and is waiting in piles ready to be laid on Sunday.
Please can everyone report to Sara in the tack room when you arrive and she will direct you to the outdoor arena (via the corridor in the main yard)where lessons will take place for tomorrow.
Please DO NOT enter the gallery of the indoor school or allow children to climb on the piles of surface!

It has been an extremely busy week and we are very excited that the indoor school revamp is nearing completion….we can’t wait to show you the transformation from Tuesday onwards😍

WOW! it’s nearly the end of the summer holidays, it’s been hot and busy but very enjoyable. Thank you to everyone who has come along and supported us ☺️🐴

Next week we have planned refurbishment work happening in the indoor school (very exciting!) so there will be no riding sessions during the week of 31st Aug- 4th Sept 2026.

Lessons will be running as normal on Saturday 29th Aug and our autumn term riding lessons will start on Saturday 5th Sept. If you have a regular space, I will be in touch this week to confirm start dates and times for this half term. If you no longer want your space please let me know ASAP

I will do my best to get back to all messages and email enquiries for new riders as soon as I can.
