Our pupils had a fantastic visit to Broad Haven Chapel this week, where they explored the features and significance of a Christian place of worship.
Back in the classroom, they made thoughtful comparisons between the chapel and our recent visit to the mosque, discussing key similarities and differences in beliefs, practices, and environments for prayer. It was great to see such respectful curiosity and engagement as learners deepened their understanding of different religions.
As highlighted in the Curriculum for Wales:�“Learners develop as ethically informed citizens who can engage with different beliefs, values and cultures, and make meaningful comparisons between them.”

Broad Haven school celebrated World Down Syndrome Day yesterday. The children wore different types of socks to celebrate uniqueness.
They have designed their own socks and learnt about differences.
After school there was a cake sale to raise money for the charity Seren Dwt. Bea and her family are grateful for all the support.

Our school came together for an amazing Comic Relief event, taking inspiration from the creative style of Mr Doodle! 🎨
The hall was transformed with incredible doodles, pupils got involved in “doodle a treat,” and even some staff became part of the artwork!
Most importantly, we raised a couple of hundred pounds for Comic Relief ❤️ A huge well done to everyone who took part and made it such a fun and successful day!

During the last two years Eco council have been raising money to make a new area in the playground. They have had many events and finally raised enough money to make their plans come to life.
Kyle, aged 8, and his dad Kevin have helped turn an unused corner in the school field into a relaxing area for children to reflect and listen to the sound of the nearby stream and read the nature poetry.
The children have been very excited to use the area this week and it has enhanced the outdoor learning in the school.

Year 5 and 6 visited Carew War Museum today as part of their World War 2 topic. They have had the most wonderful day bringing their learning to life by looking at real WW2 artefacts and hearing the interesting stories from the volunteers.
They marched like soldiers, tried on different WW2 clothes, learnt about Morse code, visited the Control Tower, looked at an Anderson Shelter and more!

Special mention to Ava who placed a Remembrance cross for our school at the War Memorial. This was a proud moment for her as her dad serves for the Army today. The children also took part in a minute silence.

We would like to thank Keith, John and all the volunteers that made our trip the best education trip! They are so knowledgeable and passionate about educating the children about the past, an experience the children won't forget.

This week the whole school celebrated Earth Day. The children had many visitors to help them learn more about the environment and art in nature.
They enjoyed a talk from Car y Mor about the seaweed farm. Wood carving demonstrations from Dan from Crogwg.
Year 5 and 6 had a talk from Sea Trust Goodwick all about types of dolphins, climate change and renewable energy. They also had a talk from Andy Drumm all about micro climates and climate change.
Each class also enjoyed activities such as beach litter picks, beach art and craft.
All the children had a fantastic day and learnt how important it is to care for the Earth 🌎❤️

The Easter raffle was a great success and we have raised £160 to go towards developing the wildlife area.
Well done also to Eco Council who wrote letters to local businesses to ask for donations.
