👋 Holiday Club will run this summer at Roch School! 👋

Hello everyone we are looking forward to being able to welcome back our Holiday Club members this summer. We will run from 19th July for 5 weeks on Mon, Tues and Weds plus Mon 23rd August subject to viable numbers at Roch School. It has been agreed that we do not run the last 2 weeks of the summer holidays so that a thorough deep clean of the school can be undertaken prior to the start of the new academic year in September.

I am sure you are all aware the pandemic has brought increased associated costs to everyone: As a result our daily charge for pre booked sessions booked before July 11th will be £24 and ad hoc sessions booked after this time will be £26. This will include breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. Places that are booked but later cancelled are still payable unless we can fill the space. As a non for profit organisation we do just aim to cover costs and this still represents excellent value for money and is well below the county norm for daily childcare costs.

We will only have 16 spaces available per day and priority booking will be given to existing users and Roch pupils until 25th June. After this date we will open our books to the wider community unless all spaces are already taken.

To book your places kindly text the Kids Club phone on 07581265984 or email [email protected] We look forward to hearing from you and receiving your bookings

Hello Everyone
It’s been great that Roch School Hub has been able to bridge the gap for those of us still working over lockdown. Mr Evans has told me that he has informed all users that Hub will NOT be running during half term.

The situation continues that only Roch pupils are allowed into Roch School, so unless we have a great influx of requests for places at half term I think it is extremely unlikely that Kids Club will be viable I am afraid.

Needless to say I will liaise with School and the necessary authorities so that we can resume our provision as soon as possible.

With yesterday’s announcement that Foundation Phase children will return to school after half term, we do not yet know how everything’s going work.
All I can say for now is that once all Primary children are back to school then I anticipate that after school club will be able to run once more.
In the meantime keep safe , spring 🌸 is on the way and better days are ahead.

Looking forward to welcoming you back to Kids Club
Jan, Lorna and Team 😊

Hello!
Just to confirm we will be re opening on Tuesday 8th September and are really looking forward to seeing everyone. I have rec’d some bookings via messenger from this page and some emails but there maybe a problem with the club phone as I haven’t rec’d any messages or reply to my texts through this channel. Please can you spread the word whilst I sort out a new phone this weekend.
I haven’t heard from many of our regulars who normally text which I find a little strange, so I apologise if you have been waiting a reply but nothing has come through on our phone🥴
Please email [email protected] or alternatively use messenger via our page.
Please spread the word, we are really excited to welcome you all back.
Best Wishes Jan, Lorna & Team

Finally,
we ve got a short term workable solution for Kids Club to run the after school club facility and if the full school return goes smoothly, then we should be able to run as normal quite quickly... phew!!!!

Many of you gave me a rough idea of what you’d need in September, please can everyone confirm their regular bookings or dates so that I can confirm a place is available as we will have to run strictly on pre booked places only.

Kindly private message Kids club on FB, email [email protected] or you can text the club phone 07581265984 which is now back in use.

Many thanks for your patience, it has been a long road for us all!

Thank you everyone who responded to needing after school club in September. We want to support you and are working very hard behind the scenes with the powers that be, to find a satisfactory solution for us all.
Your continued support is very much appreciated, as soon as we have information we will share with you. Please bear with us a little longer and hopefully we will have some firm news soon. Many Thanks Jan & Lorna

Hello All,
I have just seen a copy of the email sent to parents of Roch School with regard to the plans for September.

We understand that the safety of everyone is paramount however with all children going back to school in September and many more parents going back to work: We had hoped that Kids Club would resume with the start of term.

In order that we can demonstrate that there is a strong need and demand for this essential service please can you confirm what days your child/children will need Kids Club in September.

We do not want to let you down so please respond ASAP either by email or private message our page so that we are in a stronger position to put forward your case and hopefully re-open in September.

There may be some logistical challenges to keep everyone safe, but we should be able to work with the education sector and provide childcare as needed. We will keep you updated as soon as possible. Please bear with us until we know what’s happening
Many Thanks
Jan, Lorna & Team

Afternoon everyone
One or two of you had heard that PCC would be providing some form of childcare for key workers this summer. This has just been published by PCC

SUMMER PROGRAMME FOR LEARNERS

Pembrokeshire County Council will be running a summer programme for learners to ensure children continue to have safe care, an opportunity to play safely and take part in activities they may have missed during lockdown, such as socialising with peers and physical activity.

The programme will help children and young people re-engage with education over the summer.

Community Hubs

The Council will operate four school based Community Hubs at Pennar, Goodwick, Greenhill and Waldo Williams (Mount Airey / Infants site).

Each setting will be open between 12pm-2pm Monday to Friday for the collection of food and to enjoy activity sessions coordinated by Sport Pembrokeshire and Play Teams.

The scheme will also offer additional support to children and families through Citizens Advice Bureau, food banks and counselling.

A nutritious hot meal will be available to all children with around 1,000 meals planned to be prepared every day across the four sites.

Arrangements can be made to request delivery of meals for those shielding or with transport difficulties which limit access to the Hubs.

Childcare for vulnerable Children

Free childcare will also be available for vulnerable children.

Eligible children will be offered free childcare at registered providers across the across the County.

Those eligible for the support will be:

Children on the child protection register
Looked after children, where there is a risk of placement breakdown
Children receiving care and support (but not looked after or on the child protection register)
Children with a statement of special needs
Other looked after children
Access to this scheme will not be available for children of key workers.

Childcare for Children with ALN/ Disabilities

The Council will also offer a specialist provision for those children with Additional Learning Needs through the extension of ‘Tots for Teens’ which will operate out of Portfield Special School.

Youth Services

Extra provision for young people this summer is being planned in Youth settings across the County. Further details will be released in due course.
