The 2026 Sailing season is here.

Here is the 2026 sailing schedule, https://www.hysts.co.uk/schedule-2/. There's a copy attached to this post. Please book early to avoid disappointment! https://www.hysts.co.uk/schedule-2/booking-form-2/

As with any sailing season for Sail HYSTS we are constrained by tides but, this year, we have identified 20 possible dates. Our hope is that the weather will be kind to us and we get to sail on all of the available dates.

As with all sailing sessions, please bring appropriate clothing (and a change of clothes) for each session. We will supply sailing kit, buoyancy aids and safety hats. We try to get up to 4 hours of time on the water in each session. For some of the earlier high tide days, we will use the available height of water as much as we practically can within our safety margins.

To book a place on a sailing session please complete our online Booking Form,
https://www.hysts.co.uk/schedule-2/booking-form-2/

Whether this is your first time or you have sailed with us before, all individual sailors must be members of Sail HYSTS. We require a new Membership Form, https://www.hysts.co.uk/schedule-2/2026-membership-form/ to be filled each sailing season prior to the member’s first session to ensure we have up to date contact and medical information.

To make filling easier for 2026 we now have a fully online Membership Form, https://www.hysts.co.uk/schedule-2/2026-membership-form/

Sail HYSTS is offering young sailors the opportunity to improve their Sailing Background Knowledge with Saturday morning land based training sessions. Each of the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme, Stages 1 to 4, include learning skills that can be taught without being on the water. These skills will help the young sailors improve their sailing technique as they apply this knowledge next summer when Sail HYSTS starts sailing sessions again. The aim of the training sessions is to "tick off" the Sailing Background Knowledge clauses in their log books to help them achieve their next stage certificate.

There's another training session planned for 7th February. To book a place on the 7th for the next Sailing Background Knowledge training session you can either email [email protected] or complete the booking form at https://www.hysts.co.uk/schedule/booking-form/.

The 2026 Winter season is here

Three sailors took part in the first Sailing Background Knowledge session on 6th December. All three had a fun and interactive time learning new skills and were able to tick off sections of the Sailing Background Knowledge parts of their stage 2 and 3 syllabuses. If you’d like to join in the next session it will be at 10am on 7th February at the Sail HYSTS sailing centre.

Each training session is free, and takes place on a Saturday morning, lasting no more than 90 minutes. Sail HYSTS will provide warm drinks for the young sailors who will be fully insured with the same safeguarding principles applied just as if they were out on the water.

To book a place on a Sailing Background Knowledge training session you can either email or complete the booking form. All the young sailors must be members of Sail HYSTS. A Membership Form can be completed and returned on line following the links on that page.
