Looking for a safe, welcoming place to meet new people, have fun and relax with friends this summer?

THRIVE Youth Hub is opening at The Hangout, Havant Leisure Centre, providing a free space for young people aged 12-17 to socialise, take part in activities and access a safe, supportive environment.

📅 Tomorrow is the official opening event, featuring Music Fusion!
⏰ 5:30pm - 7:00pm
📍 The Hangout, Havant Leisure Centre

The Youth Hub is completely FREE to attend and everyone is welcome.

📣 Does anyone recognize this sweet visitor? 📣
We seem to have a new honorary student at Sharps Copse School! A lovely cat has decided to make themselves comfortable and has set up home in one of our school sheds. 🐱🏕️

They seem very settled, so we want to make sure they aren't a missing pet belonging to someone in our local community.

☀️ URGENT SCHOOL CLOSING NOTICE ☀️

Due to the continued extreme heat and the Met Office Red Weather Warning, Sharps Copse Primary School will be closing early tomorrow (Friday) at 12:30 PM similar to that of Wednesday and Thursday.

Here is what you need to know for collection:

Lunch: The children will still be served lunch at school before they come home.

Collection: Please wait outside your child's usual doors for collection at 12:30 PM sharp.

After School Club: Please note that After School Club is cancelled for Friday afternoon.

Thank you all so much for your continued co-operation and understanding as we work to keep our children and staff safe in this extreme weather.

Park Community School is hosting a fantastic programme of FREE Summer Family Fun Days through Connect 4 Families.

There will be crafts, cooking, sports, entertainment and specialist activities, with exciting events including circus skills, musical theatre, science workshops, a mobile farm, family first aid and trips to Staunton Farm!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 For primary-aged children attending with a parent/carer

☀️ IMPORTANT WEATHER & SCHOOL CLOSING UPDATE ☀️

Due to the extreme heat and current weather warnings, we are making some adjustments to our school schedule to ensure the safety and comfort of our children. Please read the following updates carefully:

☀️ Today's Update-Tuesday 23rd June: As the weather is getting increasingly hot today, we are offering an optional early pickup: You may collect your child early today at 1:15 PM from their usual classroom doors. This will be marked as an authorised collection.
Regular Collection: If you are unable to collect your child at 1:15 PM, don't worry! School will remain open for them until our usual 3:10 PM home time.

🚨 Wednesday 24th & Thursday 25th: Early Closure
Closing Time: 12:30 PM on both Wednesday and Thursday.
Lunch: The children will be having lunch at school before they come home.
Collection: Please wait outside your child’s usual doors for collection at 12:30 PM. There is no after school club provision for Wednesday or Thursday. Breakfast Club will operate as normal.

Dear Parents/Carers of Year R children,

☀️🌈☔️💧🌤️🌥️🌧️

Due to the changing weather, tommorow’s visit to Southsea will now be shorter and swimming clothes will not be needed. We will be walking along the promenade so we can look at the sea and enjoy the surroundings. Please send your child in with their drinks and packed lunch, unless you have ordered a school one, and a waterproof coat.

YEAR 6 PARENTS/CARERS 🚲 🚶 🚊 🛴
To support Transition Time, Hampshire’s Planning Team will be posting on My Journey social media regularly throughout June and July as schools send out information to new parents/carers and as visits to schools take place. Their journey to secondary school may be the first time that your child has had to travel independently. The way they travel may also change with a new location such as using a public bus for the first time. So now is the perfect time to look at how your child will travel to their new school. A new location may give you/them an opportunity to reconsider their travel choice. These resources will help you have a conversation with them to work out a routine or intended way to travel and have a practice so they are ready for September. The School journey is a great opportunity for your child to start their day in a positive and energised way. Click on the shared post below for more information.
