Our ‘glue table’ has become part of our continuous provision and is out everyday for the children to explore🎨🖌️✨.
What is a glue table?
Each day the children add different materials to it, we like to give our children the opportunity to go back to previous experiences to practise and repeat skills.
The glue table can become a deeply personal experience for our children and helps them learn about themselves, their skills, and the world around them, all whilst making something they can feel proud of ☺️
It’s one of those moments in early childhood where they can create memories of joy, discovery and personal growth🖌️🙌

Dear Parents,
We would like to inform you that our lovely Sofia will be leaving us at the end of March, She has worked here at De Havilland for over 20 years. Over the time Sofia have been with us, she has made a wonderful impact on our children, nurturing their growth and fostering their love of learning. Her dedication, kindness, and enthusiasm have touched the hearts of both children and staff alike.❤️
While we are sad to see her go, we are deeply grateful for the time and care she have given to our De Havilland family. We wish Sofia all the best in her future endeavours and are confident that she will continue to inspire and make a difference. 🫶🙌

Dear Parents/Carers,
We wanted to send over a link to a very useful website on lunch box ideas! We know it can be really difficult to think of different lunches/recipes, so we wanted to share some easy ideas. As well as some tips on ensuring your child’s lunch is nutritional.
There is also a link to sign up to ‘Healthy Steps’ emails. To help you cut down on sugar as a family.
At De Havilland Pre-school and Nursery we really want to support you and your children in making their lunch boxes healthy and enjoyable. Over the next few week’s we may put some things to the side from your child’s lunch box to promote this, please don’t worry if we do! We will talk to you about it and help you think of an alternative.
As you know we will also remove any chocolate, sweets, peanut butter, chocolate spread, popcorn.
We also want to remind all families that any foods that they give to their child to eat MUST be cut into small pieces and that children must never be left alone while eating.
All foods that are sent into Nursery in lunch boxes MUST be cut up into quarters.
Lists of foods included are:
grapes
sausages - this includes cocktail and pepparami
strawberries
blueberries
cherry tomatoes
Although not allowed in lunchboxes other foods to be aware of at home are:
marshmallows
lollipops
nuts
peanut butter
hard sweets - boiled sweets, jellies and mini eggs
popcorn
We thank everybody for their support in keeping all of our children safe.
If anyone has any questions, please do let me know ❤️

Beautiful spaces for the children to play ✨✨
Did you know less toys result in children being more engaged and enhances their play ❤️
Too many toys can be overwhelming and over stimulating, this is why we create spaces that encourage the children to use their imagination and creativity ✨✨✨

At De-Havilland we feel outdoor learning has equal value to indoor learning! ❤️
Here are some benefits:
- The outdoor environment has unique characteristics and features.
- Outdoor learning has a positive impact on children’s well-being and development.
- Outdoor learning enhances children's play experiences as it is richly resourced with open ended play materials that can be adapted and used in different ways.
- Outdoor learning encompasses all that children do, see, hear or feel in their outdoor space.
We are so grateful we get to explore our big garden everyday 🌳❄️🌦️☔️🌞🍂

Loose parts play outside 🌲🪜🧱✨
Look at all the wonderful models our children have created in the garden. The children work hard to make different arrangements, putting things together, stacking and lining up the blocks!
They discuss what block, crate and tyre should go where. Then they carefully construct their masterpieces 🙌🏻
The children use their imaginations to create obstacle courses, buses, cars, boats and more 🚗
Large loose parts encourages children’s physical skills as they are lifting the parts, learning how to balance and negotiating space!
