Beautiful spaces for the children to play ✨✨
Did you know less toys result in children being more engaged and enhances their play ❤️
Too many toys can be overwhelming and over stimulating, this is why we create spaces that encourage the children to use their imagination and creativity ✨✨✨

At De-Havilland we feel outdoor learning has equal value to indoor learning! ❤️
Here are some benefits:
- The outdoor environment has unique characteristics and features.
- Outdoor learning has a positive impact on children’s well-being and development.
- Outdoor learning enhances children's play experiences as it is richly resourced with open ended play materials that can be adapted and used in different ways.
- Outdoor learning encompasses all that children do, see, hear or feel in their outdoor space.
We are so grateful we get to explore our big garden everyday 🌳❄️🌦️☔️🌞🍂
Please see our Autumn Newsletter🍁👀
What a lovely morning and afternoon for our two. Nursery nature walks 🍂🍁🌳
We walked through muddy fields, looked for birds/wildlife, found leaves and other Autumn treasures 😍🕊️
We had so much fun playing in the park and having our snack too!
The children loved being out all together. Thank you all for coming along ❤️
Loose parts play outside 🌲🪜🧱✨
Look at all the wonderful models our children have created in the garden. The children work hard to make different arrangements, putting things together, stacking and lining up the blocks!
They discuss what block, crate and tyre should go where. Then they carefully construct their masterpieces 🙌🏻
The children use their imaginations to create obstacle courses, buses, cars, boats and more 🚗
Large loose parts encourages children’s physical skills as they are lifting the parts, learning how to balance and negotiating space!

Dear Parents,
We are excited to announce an important update to our leadership team.
After 19 years of dedicated service as our manager, Sofia has decided to step down from her management role to focus on what she loves most – caring for children and supporting families ❤️
Sofia will continue in her role as our Special Needs Coordinator (SENCO), where her passion and expertise make such a valuable difference.
We want to take this moment to thank Sofia for her incredible leadership and loyalty over the years. We are truly grateful she will continue to be a part of our team.
We are also delighted to announce that Lucy, our wonderful deputy manager, will be stepping up as our new manager! Lucy has shown outstanding leadership and dedication, and we have every confidence in her ability to lead the nursery moving forward.

Welcome back 🫶🏼✨
We have loved our first week back at nursery. The children have been exploring the environment, catching up with their friends as well as welcoming new friends to the setting ❤️
Our main focus is to spend time with the children, learning all about their summers, any new skills they have learnt and to support their emotional health and wellbeing.
Don’t forget to keep an eye out on your emails, private Facebook and weekly whiteboard for any important reminders or information on what we might be up to. We are excited for the term ahead 😌
We are almost at the end of our summer holidays 🌞
Just a friendly reminder we return on Tuesday 3rd September🥰
We are looking forward to seeing the children and hearing all about their summer🌻
We want to wish the best of luck to all of our children who have moved on ✨

The children loved a visit from Hatfield Fire and Rescue Service 🚒🧑🏼🚒
The children had a talk with the firefighters. They spoke about the importance of their uniform, their role as a firefighters and answered the children’s questions! 🔥
They were super excited to look at the different safety equipment, sit inside the fire engine, look at the different tools they use to help people and talk about all the things they could see ❤️
