I struggled today at Colchester Pro am, 14 pars, 2 birdies and 2 bogeys for a level part 70 finishing in 14th Position. A strong field meant it was going to be a tough event.

My team were a pleasure to play with. Thanks for the game lads. The field was strong and 83 points was very commendable but there were some great scores today. WHS does not favour the low handicapper….. allegedly!

With seven birdie attempts lipping out and two poor chips on the back nine’s par threes. I was not going to threaten a podium finish. It was one of those frustrating rounds that you can honestly say, I left so many out there.

Some great rounds today on what was a fantastically presented course. Colchester Golf Club knows how to run a pro am.
Well done Bakes, Benjamin David and Gary Carter Colchester are lucky to have you. 👌

Back to the office for me until the next one….. nothing in the diary yet but with Seniors golf around the corner, more golf is inevitable. It’s about time I put myself first.

A mixed bag today, too many bogies unfortunately, but some good stuff at times. Another Great day Thorndon Park Golf Club for what was a great event with a strong field.

A shocking start to Pro Am yesterday after losing my first tee shot and proceeding to make triple bogey followed by a double bogey up the 2nd! 🤦🏻‍♂️
Possibly my worst start in 35 years of golf!

Some promising stuff in there at times but a disappointing day all in all with two many three putts again. However the company was great and the course was in superb shape despite the heat and lack of rain. Greens were rolling lovely.

Thanks to and as always. Congratulations to Mark Talbott making it back to back wins after his victory Ingrebourne Links the day before.

A Great couple of days away for some friendly competition Royal Cromer Golf Club & Sheringham Golf Club for the Summer Classic

Russell Glenn Clark and I battled hard for 36 holes but only managed 9th place 6 points behind the eventual winners.

Some awesome golf at times with some mixed offerings scattered amongst the brilliance. But certainly a fun couple of days at two fantastic venues. Thankyou Norfolk for giving us the escape we needed and a great bunch of guys to share it with.

Back to the grind now but with 3 Pro Ams in July this is the most golf I’ve played in years! Something to build on for next year. Royal Cromer Golf Club Breakfast was Banging also! 👊🏼❤️⛳️

I managed to squeeze a couple of days out of the office this week to play in the Essex Open

Despite winning the Pro Am with a 69 and finishing 2nd with my team, disappointingly, it was evident that I need to find time for more golf and to regain match fitness, as the cold and windy 36 holes that followed proved too much. I could only manage a 10th place with rounds of 76 / 72 to finish +8.

Congratulations to for his fourth title! Great golf in testing conditions. 👏🏻

After a few years of defeat, it was great to finally win back the trophy from the Essex County Amateur Team. What a quality bunch of lads these guys are!

Although we didn’t win County of the Year at last night .golf Awards 2026 it was a fantastic evening and so inspiring to see so many others are working hard to make golf accessible and welcoming to everyone.

A huge thank you to for taking the time to say hi too. What an inspirational human being.
