Kingfishers had a fantastic day exploring Hastings seafront! Our first stop was the Fishermen's Museum, where we looked at the fascinating exhibits, climbed aboard one of the fishing boats to imagine life at sea, and even enjoyed sharing a story together. We also had some time to relax, play on the beach and make the most of the beautiful weather.

Afterwards, we visited the RNLI, where Ian and his team gave us a brilliant talk about the lifeboat, affectionately known as the "big boy", and shared some of the history of the RNLI. The children loved trying on some of the rescue clothing and learning about the important work the lifeboat crew does to keep people safe. We finished our adventure with lunch at the Stade before heading back to our meeting point. It was a wonderful day full of learning, exploration and fun!

Snowy Owls carried out a fair test by controlling the variables to investigate what plants need to live and grow. We explored the question: What do plants need to survive? We found that plants need water, air, light, nutrients, and space. We observed the differences between the plants under different conditions and recorded our findings in a table!

Kingfishers have been exploring how artists create different tones of a colour. They discovered that adding white makes a colour lighter - a tint, while adding black makes it darker - a shade. The children enjoyed experimenting with colour mixing and using their creativity to paint an apple.
