Last weekend I took to the road and headed north to Tear Up in Staffordshire, to camp, chat, and celebrate all things woven. What an adventure it was! So much skill, creativity and enthusiasm from a such lovely bunch of people. I’ve just landed back in Sussex, tired but inspired! Thank you Eddie and your super team. .fest

Another gorgeous weekend at Great Dixter, where the barn was wonderfully cool to work in, and lots of visitors came to chat about basketweaving, with a few good friends popping by to say hello. The garden is really bursting with colour at the moment. I was also bursting with colour by the end of Sunday, having helped myself to some mulberries, which did a marvellous job of staining me and my clothes bright pink! Great Dixter Charitable Trust

I’m flying back to Great Dixter on Sat 1st and Sun 2nd August, so if you’re planning a visit to the gardens, do come and say hello. It was our final class of the year on Friday, and the students were real troopers battling with the heat in London. Well done all. Some super scalloming from everyone!

Weaving in a heatwave (with a tight deadline) has been a challenging experience! But over-soaking the willow by two days worked a treat.

Some super weaving has been happening on the Advanced Basketry course at the City Lit, despite this heatwave! Thank goodness for the air con. We’ll be back there on Friday to work on square baskets. Well done everyone! City Lit
