Come and spend a weekend on the land.

We'll explore permaculture through the forager's gardens, orchard, campsite and the overall landscape at Small Meadow Farm. Lots of permaculture is on show - just by moving through the field and woodland.

During the weekend we can see how the principles of permaculture that I have followed - have turned into what I am doing there and how I do it. It's easier to learn when we can see, walk through or even eat something!

A chance to learn, ask questions, meet like-minded people and slow down a little. There is plenty of time to take stock, relax and think how simple changes can improve our lives and the natural world around us.

No experience needed.

I suppose we could say that a lot of permaculture is about perspective. How we see things. To look at 'rubbish' and see a resource. To look at weeds and see a useful plant. To look at our global problems and see an opportunity for growth.

By spending a whole weekend thinking about how the permaculture framework can help solve our problems, we can become more reassured about looming uncertainty.

How can we adapt our gardens?
How can we adapt our homes?
How can we adapt our businesses?

Treading more lightly on the planet can save us money.
Designing our projects well, can save us energy..
There are all sorts of way that we can apply our ecological principles to daily life.

The Introduction to permaculture has been inspiring people to create a more sustainable lifestyle for over 60 years!

Today I'm starting to promote this land-woodland-farm design deep dive weekend. A chance to really think about our bigger projects and how to integrate our aims whilst also staying open to what happens naturally along the way.

After observing the land, everything in it and observing myself - for 10 years, I now have quite a lot to share about the process! Also being a permaculture teacher I have many insights about how designing at scale really works and how useful permaculture design concepts are in reducing the overwhelm and coming up with a plan.

Coming and spending time on my farm, seeing in reality what have been my successes and challenges, whilst thinking about your own patch and journey, will be time well spent.

I'm keen to run this course, even if it's a small select group - so if you know anyone who has just taken on any type of bigger land project- please let them know about this weekend intensive, here in Fairlight, East Sussex - camping included - if from further afield.
