Calling all community groups and schools.

We are currently planning our planting schedule for next year (now is the time to start seed sowing!).

We want to be able to increase the amount of plants we donate, so we are asking community and green groups, and schools, in the local area. to register an interest and let us know what type if plants you'd like us to grow (veg, annual flowers, herbs, biennials).

Please email [email protected] in the first instance to register your interest and let us know what you'd be interested in

WANTED: 9cm pots!

Square or round — we’re not fussy. Here’s a photo of exactly what we’re after, with a water bottle for scale.

If you’ve bought plants from the Greenhouse, could you please have a look and see if you’ve got any of these pots tucked away? We’d be very grateful if you could return them to us.

And only 9cm pots, please! 😊

Thank you!

PLANT OF THE WEEK: Hyssop

This week we’re featuring Hyssop (Hyssopus officinalis), a beautiful, aromatic herb with spikes of blue flowers that are loved by bees and other pollinators.

It’s a sun-loving, easy-going perennial that’s happy in a well-drained soil and makes a lovely addition to a herb garden or sunny border.

A useful herb, a pretty flower and great for wildlife – what’s not to love? 🌿

We're delighted to share some wonderful news!

Thanks to players of The National Lottery, Alexandra Park Greenhouse Group has been awarded £20,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund.

This funding will allow us to continue employing our RHS-trained Lead Gardener for another two years, supporting our volunteers, expanding our community activities and helping even more people experience the benefits of gardening and green spaces.

As a volunteer-led charity, this support gives us the stability to grow our work, from educational workshops and community events to providing advice and plants for local schools, charities and community groups.

A huge thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund and to everyone who supports the Greenhouse. We can't wait to see what we can achieve together.

🐾 Are dogs allowed in the greenhouse?

We’re often asked this, and the answer is yes! Well-behaved dogs on a lead are very welcome.

Some of our volunteers and visitors are a little cautious around dogs, so we simply ask that they stay close to you while you’re visiting.

And for our four-legged friends who are especially well behaved… there might just be a treat waiting in the shed. 🦴🐶
