On Thursday we held a 200 Mile relay Challenge with children running on our school track in groups from 7.15am til 4pm! In total we needed to cover 1917 laps, but with all children and staff taking part, we totalled an astonishing 2661 laps, the equivalent of 278 miles! The run raised funds for our school and also our link school in Sierra Leone. A fantastic day!

This week we have been celebrating Science week in school with lots of exciting events including Jaws'n'Claws (where children were able to get up close and personal with frogs, snakes, snails and a lizard!), a visit from RSPCA Mallydams and many different Science challenges. Children were invited to create a diorama depicting an animal habitat. They were all absolutely amazing with so much effort and creativity going into them. Prizes were awarded in each year group. Here are a selection of the marvellous creations!

Happy World Book Day! 📚✨

We had a fantastic day in school yesterday celebrating the magic of books! Our pupils amazed us with their brilliant costumes, bringing their favorite characters to life with creativity and enthusiasm.

A big highlight was our Wooden Spoon Character Competition, where students transformed ordinary spoons into incredible book characters—such imagination on display!

Thank you to everyone who helped make today so special. It’s wonderful to see a love of reading thriving in our school community!

We were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and love of reading showed during World Book Day which we celebrated at the beginning of the month. Our Book Day assembly was a sight to behold with a mass of book characters and beautiful costumes. We held a diorama competition, which was an overwhelming success with nearly 100 dioramas entered. The standard was exceptionally high and the teachers really struggled to choose between them. The winning Dioramas are seen below...

This morning, our whole school were given tickets and invited to board the Polar Express. They were met by the conductor and shown to their seats, where they began their journey. To celebrate this festive trip, everyone had a cup of hot chocolate with their friends! Over the next couple of weeks our children will be reading this beautiful book together in class as our whole school English focus for the rest of this term.

This morning we welcomed members of our local
Church community to our Remembrance Service.

Poems, prayers and hymns were shared by pupils.

We joined the nation in 2 minutes silence- remembering all those who have died in wars and conflict. We prayed that all people and all nations learn to live in harmony and that we strive to be peacemakers and peace-keepers.
