🌊 Team Outen – Day 4 of our Year 6 Residential! 🌊
What a wet, windy and action-packed day we’ve had! 🌧️💙 This morning, Team Outen worked together to build their very own canoe raft before putting it to the test out at sea! With the wind picking up, communication and teamwork were more important than ever. After warming up with some hot chocolate at lunchtime ☕, it was time for the famous jetty jump! The children were incredibly brave and it was so lovely to see them cheering each other on and encouraging their teammates. We finished off our beach adventures with a swim in the sea, some time playing on the beach and the creation of a canoe slide, which the children absolutely LOVED! 🌊🙌
This evening, we brought everyone together for a whole-group campfire, enjoying hot chocolate and marshmallows 🔥☕🍡 while sharing our favourite highlights and memories from the week. ❤️
Mrs Leach and Miss Dowling have absolutely LOVED being part of Team Outen this week! 🥹💙 The children have been amazing, showing fantastic teamwork, communication, kindness, friendliness and organisation throughout every activity. We couldn’t be prouder of how they’ve supported one another, embraced every challenge and made the most of every opportunity.
We’re feeling a little sad that our residential is nearly over, but what a week of memories we’ve made together! 🥰✨

Team McGrath – Day 5 🌊🚂

Day 5 of our Year 6 residential at Aberdovey saw Team McGrath hop on the train to Barmouth for an adventurous day of rock scrambling! Despite the very soggy weather, the children threw themselves into the activities, running, sliding down and even cartwheeling across the rocks! There were plenty of laughs along the way, and the children certainly didn’t let the rain dampen their spirits. A wet, wild and wonderful day full of adventure and memories! 🌧️😂

To finish off the day, all three groups came together for a cosy campfire evening. The children found their own sticks to toast marshmallows over the fire, enjoyed hot chocolate and biscuits, and ended the evening singing songs together. A perfect way to round off another fantastic day at Aberdovey! ☕🔥🎶

🌳Year 2 had a fantastic time at Outdoor Learning! 🌿🍂
From zooming down mud slides and getting creative with woodland artwork, to enjoying the tree swings, there were smiles all round. The conker screwing was a huge success too!
Great fun was had by everyone, and judging by those muddy clothes, they certainly made the most of every minute! 🌳🪵🤎

What a fantastic day Team Outen have had!
We headed to Barmouth for some rock scrambling before stopping for lunch and a well-deserved hot chocolate to warm us up ☕. We then took on rock climbing, where all of the children were incredibly brave and pushed themselves to new heights! 🧗‍♀️ It was so lovely to see everyone cheering each other on and supporting their teammates throughout.
This evening, we finished with a team scavenger hunt packed with challenges, including getting the whole team through a hoop, tying knots, finding the heights of local mountains and tackling maths problems! A brilliant day full of teamwork, courage and determination. 💪🏼

🌊 Team McGrath – Day 3 adventures! 🚤
Team McGrath have had an action-packed day full of adventure! We took on a gorge walk, sliding down natural water slides along the way – parents, don’t worry, the children have been practising their swimming… and their water park skills! 😂💦
Next up was the jetty jump, where everyone had the opportunity to face their fears and step outside their comfort zones. We then enjoyed an exciting power boat ride before swimming back to shore! 🏊‍♂️
What a day of bravery, laughter and unforgettable memories. This evening, we put our teamwork and navigation skills to the test with night-time orienteering around the grounds. 🌙🔦

What another action-packed day for Team Danenburg! Today, the children took on an exciting gorge walk, enjoyed the thrill of the natural water slides and bravely tackled the jetty jump! 🌊🚣‍♀️ There were plenty of opportunities to step outside their comfort zones, face new challenges and make some amazing memories along the way.
The adventure continued with a power boat experience before the team put their communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills to the test with the spider web challenge. 🕸️ It was fantastic to see everyone encouraging one another, working together and showing such determination throughout the activities.
Another brilliant day full of adventure, laughter and teamwork! We’re so proud of how the children continue to challenge themselves, support their friends and make the most of every experience. ❤️

🌲 Team Danenburg’s Day 2 in Aberdovey! 🏕️

What a day of challenges and adventure! Today, the children took on the cabin-breaking challenge, explored the forest and made their way up the hills before finishing the day with an exciting night gorge walk! 🔦🌙 Plenty of opportunities to step outside their comfort zones, challenge themselves and make some amazing memories along the way! 🤩
We’ve been incredibly impressed by how well the children are working together. It’s wonderful to see them helping one another, cheering each other on and showing such fantastic team spirit. They’ve been putting their school GEM powers into action and demonstrating just how much they can achieve when they work together! 💎🙌
To finish our evening, we all came together in the communal room for games, hot chocolate and biscuits. ☕🍪 A lovely end to another memorable day!
Everyone is doing brilliantly, and we can’t wait for more adventures tomorrow! ❤️✨
