From garden to plate 🌱🥔🔥

Our little gardeners harvested their very own potatoes, gave them a good wash, chopped them up and added fresh rosemary - all grown right here in our forest school garden. 🌿

Then came the best bit… cooking them together over the fire and finally getting to taste what we’d grown. 🤎

Such a simple experience, but packed with learning - understanding where our food comes from, caring for what we grow, developing real-life skills and enjoying the whole journey from farm to fork. 🌱✨👨‍🍳

🌈 Celebrating Pride Month 🌈

This month we’ve been celebrating what makes each and every one of us wonderfully unique. 💛

Through stories, creative activities and meaningful conversations, the children explored different family structures, celebrated their own identities, discovered cultures and communities from around the world, and learnt that no matter our differences, everyone deserves to feel loved, valued and accepted 💜

From creating family collages inspired by ‘This Is Me’, to reading The Rainbowsaurus, designing unique faces, exploring the colours of the rainbow, and talking about the amazing diversity of people, animals and places across our world - every activity encouraged curiosity, empathy and a sense of belonging 🥰

At Greenhouse Farm Nursery, we believe that kindness, respect and inclusion are values that begin in the early years. By celebrating our differences, we help children grow into compassionate, confident individuals who understand that the world is made brighter because we are all different. 🌍❤️

We cannot wait to see our brave, bold and beautiful children walk the red carpet this evening 👏🏼

We are so proud of each and every one of them and will be so sad to wave them goodbye at the end of summer ❤️

Yesterday we had a wonderful offsite trip to Helmshore with some of the Preschool children 🥰 🎒

We got the bus, explored the park and then headed to Snig hole Park Farm to visit the wonderful array of animals.
🦙 🐐 🐑 🐔 🦃 🐷 🐴

We shared a picnic in the sunshine before heading back on the bus to Nursery 👏🏼

The children managed lots of walking, chatting to local people in the community, sighting some new animals and learning lots of new facts ✅

What a gorgeous day out 🥰 we can’t wait for the next visit! 🙏🏻

🌋 🦖 Dinosaur Discovery 🦕 🌋

Our little explorers became palaeontologists for the day, searching for dinosaur bones, matching colours and rebuilding skeletons piece by piece. They used their science skills to make volcanos erupt as well as wading through the gooey dino swamp! 👏🏼 🌋 🍃

Using visual prompts and discussion cards, the children explored the differences between carnivores, herbivores and omnivores while developing problem-solving, observation and critical thinking skills.

The adventure continued with a challenge! 🌋 Following footprint trails, collecting clues and balancing across stepping stones helped develop gross motor skills, coordination, proprioception, spatial awareness and confidence.

Learning through play at its finest! 🦴✨
