Myself, Kim and Lisa and the rest of the Hillside Team would like to say a massive Thank You to all those who came to support Oak Room sport’s day on Tuesday. It was wonderful to have you all come and support the children and the school. We had a great time and children and families had a lot of fun. Thank you to those parents/carers who ran the running race, we know the children enjoyed seeing you join in. As promised here are a few snapshots of that exciting day. These last two weeks in Oak room have been a lot of fun. We have continued looking at our core story, Handa’s surprise and have gone on an adventure to African to learn more about the culture and the villages Handa is from. We have been inspired to make our own African necklaces and make Handa a new house. We have also been looking at the artist, Arcimboldo who used to paint fruits and vegetables to represent a face, we thought we would have a go too. We have been busy making patterns and looking at the animals from our story as well as trying to move and sound like the animals. What fun we have had and more fun to have in the last four weeks before we leave.

In willow club tonight we prepared our tea, pizza wraps with sweetcorn and carrots. The girls did amazing and they ate them all up.

We had a fantastic morning for our open day it rained and it rained but that didn’t deter us from exploring our outdoor area. Oh what fun we had!

Lots of fun in Willow afterschool club, gorgeous butterfly painting, learning to share and take turns. The new menu in afterschool is a huge hit! Tonight we have had tuna pasta salad the children helping prepare and serve themselves.
Then to finish the club off with a play in the sand pit.

SPORTS DAY - Oak Class - Tuesday 16th June 2026 and Acorn Class Wednesday 17th June 2026.
We look forward to welcoming you and let's hope the weather brightens up for us. The children are all excited to show off their sporting skills.
There will also be a raffle and couple of stalls - guess the sweets in the jar and the teddy bears name.
