What a fantastic week of learning, exploring and fun! ☀️
📚 We have continued enjoying Peace at Last, creating story maps and writing ideas to help Mr Bear get to sleep.
🔢 In Maths, we have been exploring and creating patterns.
✏️ We have been developing our pencil grip and letter formation in Kinetic Letters.
🎨 In our Marvellous Me topic, we explored sculptures, primary colours and drew pictures of ourselves and our families.
🦷 We have been learning all about dentists and how to keep our teeth healthy.
💛 Through Ruby's Worry, we talked about sharing worries and the people who help us in our community.
📖 Our guided reading book, Hair Love, sparked lovely discussions about celebrating our differences.
🍂 Welly Walk was full of autumn adventures, pattern-making, spider discoveries and a surprise visit from a cheeky bear! 🐻
🎵 We have also been singing Pat-a-Cake and started our Monster Phonics reading groups.
We are so proud of the children’s enthusiasm, curiosity and hard work this week. Well done, Reception! ⭐👏💛

What a fantastic start to the term in Year 4!
We’ve certainly been busy. In Maths, we’ve been developing our understanding of place value, while in English we’ve started exploring our brilliant new book, Gorilla by Anthony Browne.
In History, we’ve travelled back in time to learn about the Great Plague, and in Science we’ve been learning all about teeth and digestion. In PSHE, we’ve also been thinking carefully about what it means to be a good friend and how we can show kindness and respect to others. In DT, we’ve enjoyed getting hands-on with baking and learning how to adapt a recipe for different purposes.
There has also been lots of excitement about the introduction of ClassDojo, and we’re looking forward to using it to celebrate achievements and share more of our Year 4 learning.
We’ve been keeping active too. The children have enjoyed taking part in Bikeability, developing their cycling skills and confidence, and we’ve also made an exciting start to our swimming lessons.

Year Five have had a wonderful time at their residential PGL. Over the course of three days, the children learnt to work as a team, conquer their fears and have a great time. Their time at PGL took them high off the ground on the Zipwire and Trapeze, dunking in the cold lake during Raft Building and aiming for gold in the Archery. The class also loved hiding in the woods at nighttime during Ambush and boogying the night away at the Silent Disco. The children have made us immensely proud and their efforts in every activity, and as groups in their dorm rooms, were always to a high standard. Well done Year Five!

Reminder that it is the first PTFA meeting of the year tonight (Monday 7th). It is a bit more formal than our normal meetings with it being the AGM. We will need to elect a new committee for the coming year but we will also be discussing fundraising ideas and upcoming events.
The meeting is at 6pm at school, but we will also circulate a Teams link in the class WhatsApp groups for anyone who can’t make it to school but would still like to join.

PTFA AGM

Not long now before we are back for another year!
The PTFA will be holding our annual general meeting on 7th September at 6pm at school. At this meeting we will be electing the committee for the coming year and also planning exciting events and fundraising ideas for the next 12 months.
Everyone is welcome to attend - we welcome any new ideas for raising money! Hope to see you there!!

💙💛 What an incredible year for Broadway Primary PTFA! 💛💙

We’ve raised an amazing £9,679 this year – a record fundraising total for our school! 🎉

As Chair of the PTFA, I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped make this possible. From our amazing committee and volunteers who planned and organised events, to every family, member of staff, local business and supporter who attended, donated or volunteered – this wouldn’t have happened without you.

A special thank you to our wonderful volunteers whose children are leaving for Year 6. Thank you for your time, dedication and support over the years. You’ll be greatly missed, and we wish you all the very best for the future.

We’re so proud of everything we’ve achieved together and the difference this money will make for our children.

See you in September for our AGM, where we’ll be electing next year’s PTFA committee. We’d love to welcome some new faces, so if you’d like to get involved, please come along!
