⭐️ It’s been a very hectic week but finally I’ve a few minutes spare to say congratulations to all of my students who were offered BRGS places last week (and to those on the waiting list - fingers crossed!) I hope you’ve all had fun celebrating your well-deserved successes and are looking forward to next September. ⭐️
This year all the children faced a very tough challenge, being the first cohort to take the different style of test, but for most, their hard work paid off. I’m thrilled to say almost 80% of those children who started out with me in autumn 2017 exceeded the required standard, which is amazing.
The scores of those that didn’t quite make it show how close they came, which must be as frustrating for them as it is for me, but I hope they are proud of their achievements and not too disappointed because to have just missed out still means they are superstars. The work done (and there was plenty of that!) not only increased their knowledge but was a huge boost to their confidence, and they can look forward to bright futures regardless of this outcome. In fact, the attitude to learning and consistent efforts of all my students will pay dividends throughout year 6, and for their SATs and high school.
I love to share the successes of my students but I think the biggest compliment I get is when parents tell me their children love to attend my sessions because making learning fun is one of my main aims. So many parents said their children had a brilliant time this year, which means a great deal.
Best wishes to all my little superstars ⭐️- keep in touch if you can because I already miss you all. Keep working hard!

BRGS Entrance Exam results were posted out this week and I've only just caught up with the last of the parents to find out how everyone did! It seemed such a long wait for results this year, and there were so many candidates on the day, too.
I'm absolutely thrilled to say it was a record year for me in terms of place offers for my students, and their successes were definitely well-deserved. Huge congratulations to you all.
Results aside, though, I want to say well done to ALL the children who studied with me in the academic year up to September because I don't train children to take tests, I aim to give them a really solid foundation for their future studies. The bulging folders of work my students have produced in those months are evidence of their commitment to learning, and it’s been lovely to see both academic and personal confidence develop as those folders expand. The knowledge and experience gained during their time with me will continue to pay dividends in year 6 and their SATs and high school, too.

Over the summer I'm able to offer one-off or weekly 11+ Grammar School exam prep sessions for end of Year 5 (age 9/10) children. These small group sessions (max. 4 children) are perfect for developing 11+ Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning skills. We focus on subject knowledge, time management in tests and familiarity with question styles. The sessions are ideally suited to children who have been practising 11+/Grammar school exam material at home already and will sit the tests this coming September.

BRGS entrance exam results day! Very exciting as I've had news of passes from 11 students... It's a record result for me this year but they've all worked extremely hard and should be proud of themselves.

Entrance exam day for BRGS and CRGS.
Good luck to all those taking the tests this morning, especially my own students.
Just stay calm and show what you know and all you've learned. Don't forget to read questions very carefully and check your answers if there's time... And remember, no blanks!
