📸 Permission to… TAKE IT APART.

Yes. Even the one they spent three hours building.

Even the one currently taking up half the dining table because “DON’T BREAK IT, I’M KEEPING IT FOREVER!”

Here’s my rule:

📸 Take a photo.
👏 Celebrate the brilliant build.
🧱 Then, when they’re ready, dismantle it.

Because the bricks aren’t finished.

That spaceship could become a dragon.

The dragon could become a hotel.

The hotel could become a completely inexplicable wheeled contraption with 17 eyes.

The build doesn’t have to last forever for the creativity to matter.

Free the bricks and let them become something else.

That’s what Build Different is all about.

When they have LOADS of LEGO but still want another set… 🙄🧱

You know the conversation.

I don’t know what to build.

Said while sitting next to approximately 4,000 perfectly good bricks. 😂

Sometimes they don’t need more bricks. They just need a new way to look at the ones they already have.

Try this:

🧱 Free the bricks
Pick an old set that’s gathering dust. Take it apart. Build something new with those pieces Yes, even that expensive one. 😬

🎲 Change the rules
Build something using only 20 bricks.
Build using one colour.
Build something with no straight walls.

Or try these:

🚀 Build something that shouldn’t be able to fly… but does.

🤪 Invent the most useless machine in the world.

No instructions. No right answer. Wonky absolutely encouraged.

What if your work looked a little more like this? 👀

We went to the LEGOLAND Festival yesterday 🎪🎶🌸

You get a trail and a wristband, then collect a stamp from each of the different festival zones. Creative, Music, Thrill, Fun to Build and Chill Out to get a free little cat polybag 🐱

My favourite was definitely all the flowers in the Chill Out Zone 🌼 Although, obviously, no trip would be complete without LEGO fries too! 🍟

We’ve been going to LEGOLAND for 12 years now and we still absolutely love it. I’m not sure we’ll ever grow out of it!

🚨 Permission granted.

That finished model gathering dust on the shelf?

You’re allowed to take it apart.

I know. Slightly controversial.

It can feel wrong to dismantle something your child spent hours building, especially when it came from a lovely new set with very specific instructions.

But bricks aren’t designed to spend the rest of their lives collecting dust.

They’re designed to become something else.

✨ Take a photo so you can remember the original build.
🧽 Give it a quick dust.
🧱 Break it back down into pieces.
🤩 Then see what those bricks become next.

A castle might turn into a robot.

A spaceship could become a sandwich-making machine.

That carefully constructed vehicle might grow wings, three legs and a suspicious number of eyes.

Taking a model apart doesn’t erase the creativity that went into it. It gives those pieces another chance to spark something brilliant.

Display less. Play more.
