We hope that all our alumni are safe and well during these difficult times. We will try and find some positive news to share to keep your spirits up!

As Covid-19 spreads, misleading information in the news or on social media can be at best confusing and at worst fatal. Full Fact, the UK’s independent factchecking charity, is working flat out to tackle a flow of falsities

Founders Day Reunion

Last Saturday Old Groveians gathered at Hindhead Court to celebrate the 90th anniversary of The Grove moving to Hindhead from Highgate in London. Guests were welcomed by Mrs Lynch and then Pat Stovold read a poem by Miss Lacy on leaving Highgate, followed by Libby Daniels reading a passage which described a visit made by the whole school to their new home, prior to moving in. Everybody was then free to explore Hindhead Court and the grounds, remembering where they used to sleep, the old dining room and most exciting the basement (which was formally a common room). The afternoon was rounded off by a wonderful cream tea and lots of reminiscing.

IN MEMORY OF MR MARK PORDAGE

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Mr Mark Pordage, Head of ICT at The Royal School, died of a heart attack on Saturday. Our thoughts and prayers are very much with his family and with all who knew him.

The School Chapel at the Senior School will be open on Wednesday 19 June and Friday 21 June from 3pm – 5pm should any current parents, or past pupils and parents wish to write in a Book of Condolence that the School is compiling. This will be presented to Mr Pordage’s family in due course.

Please arrive at Kilmorey Reception (first school entrance on Farnham Lane) where you will be signed in and taken through to the Chapel. Our Lay Chaplain, Mrs Liz Holbird, or other member of the Chaplaincy Team will be present.
