🎉🎉🥰Mrs B prepares to set sail on her new adventure🎉🎉🥰

As we come to the end of another academic year, we want to take a moment to celebrate someone truly special.❤️

🤗After 9 wonderful years at Mayflower and an incredible 32 years in education, we say a heartfelt thank you to Mrs Bartholomew as she begins her well-deserved retirement.

Throughout her Mayflower career, Mrs B has worked tirelessly to ensure that the children of Harwich receive the very best education. She has witnessed countless changes in education over the years and has always embraced them with calmness, professionalism, and a forward-thinking mindset.

Her passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment have made a lasting impact on our school community. This year alone has brought its own unique challenges—from policy changes to teaching through extreme heat—but, as always, Mrs B met every challenge with resilience and determination.

"Thank you" never quite seems enough for someone who has given so much. It is with immense gratitude that we wish Mrs B every happiness as she embarks on her retirement adventure.

We have a fantastic pond area that we are desperate to incorporate into our Forest School sessions, but it’s currently looking a bit more "wild jungle" than "learning space"!

We want to make it safe, accessible, and fun for the children, but we are limited by time and resources. We need a couple of things to kickstart our project.

🌱 Can you help us with:

🌿🌿A Petrol Strimmer: Do you have one we could borrow for a short while in order to clear the overgrown brush? 🚜

👣👣Leftover Paving Slabs: Got any spares sitting in your garden or garage? We'd love to recycle them to create a safe path for little feet! 🧱

If you can lend a hand, a tool, or donate some slabs, please drop us a message or contact the school office. Our mini-explorers will thank you! 🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♀️

🎨🌳 When Nature Becomes the Canvas! 🌳🎨

🎨Art isn't just for the classroom! Our wonderful Forest School practitioners recently encouraged the children to unleash their creativity in the great outdoors.

🌲Using mud and natural resources, the children transformed our trees into incredible faces, bringing the woodland to life with their imagination. It was truly magical to walk through the forest and see each tree with its own unique character! 😃

What a fantastic way to combine creativity, nature, and outdoor learning. Well done to all of our amazing children and Forest School team! 🍃👏

🎶 A Huge Thank You to We Are Music 🎶

Mayflower Primary School would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to We Are Music (WAM) for their incredible support of Mayfest 2026.

Without their patience, dedication, and unwavering support, Mayfest simply would not have been the success that it was. The team were at school from 7am on the morning of Mayfest, helping everything run smoothly, and somehow still managed to completely rock the stage later in the day!

And wow – didn't WAM and Voyage absolutely ROCK! 🤘🎸🎤

We Are Music is a fantastic charity organisation that works with young people through music, providing FREE sessions for aspiring musicians in our local community. Harwich is incredibly lucky to have such an amazing organisation on its doorstep. They offer rehearsal opportunities, recording facilities, and invaluable support to young people pursuing their passion for music. The countdown is officially on—we are kicking things off in just over 5 hours! 🕒✨
