Our food bank won’t be open today or next Monday due to bank holiday. We will be open as normal on Wednesday 9-12.

🌟 That’s a wrap on Ark Xtra Summer 2026! 🌟

What an amazing summer we’ve had! 💙

This summer we hosted 16 Ark Xtra sessions and 8 Ark Xtra Wellbeing sessions, filling an incredible 240 spaces across the programme! 🎉

Over our four themed weeks, we explored:

🐾 Animals
🌊 Under the Sea
🚗 Transport
🚀 Space

Every session included baking, arts and crafts and a themed story, alongside plenty of opportunities for play, exploration and fun. And, of course, we made the most of the sunshine with A LOT of water play! 💦☀️

We also provided a meal for every child attending, so everyone had plenty of energy for all the fun!

A huge THANK YOU to every child and family who joined us. ❤️ We hope you’ve had a fantastic summer — we know we have!

We’d also like to say a huge thank you to Essex ActivAte for kindly funding these sessions and making them completely FREE for our families. 💙 Your support has helped us provide so many children with a summer full of fun, friendship, food and fantastic experiences.

Today was our final session, and now our wonderful staff team can enjoy a very well-deserved summer break. 🌞

Thank you for making Ark Xtra Summer 2026 so special. We can’t wait to see you all again!

The Ark Centre Nursery is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our friendly and supportive team. Whether you're looking to gain valuable experience in the Early Years sector, build your CV, explore a future career in childcare, or simply want to give something back, we'd love to hear from you!

💜 Today is the day! 💜
We'd like to wish our wonderful friend Sarah the very best of luck as she opens the Harwich Hive Community School Uniform Bank today! 🎉
This fantastic community initiative will provide free, good-quality pre-loved school uniforms to local families, helping to ensure every child has what they need for school.
We're also proud to share that our Nursery Manager, Jess, will be there this morning to lend a helping hand. If any of our nursery families with children starting school this September need support with school uniform, please do pop along and have a chat. We'd love to help make the transition to school that little bit easier.
A huge congratulations to Sarah for bringing this wonderful project to our community. We know it's going to make such a positive difference to so many local families. 💜

We're looking forward to another fun-filled week of ocean adventures! Here's a sneak peek at what the children will be getting up to from Monday to Thursday.

Please remember, Harwich Foodbank is open on Tuesday's 10-1pm, and salvation army Fridays 10-1pm.

Choosing the right nursery is one of the biggest decisions you'll make for your little one – and at The Ark Centre Nursery, we're here to ensure every child feels safe, supported and ready to thrive. 💙

We understand that every child develops at their own pace, which is why we've created four dedicated age-specific rooms, carefully designed to meet the needs of each stage of early childhood.

✨ Full-time onsite SENCO providing inclusive support
✨ 15 & 30-hour funded places available
✨ Fee-paying spaces also available
✨ Term-time only provision

Our experienced team is passionate about helping every child flourish, building confidence, independence and a love of learning from the very beginning.

📅 September spaces are now being allocated, and availability is limited. If you're considering a place for your child, we recommend arranging a visit as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
