Today we were visited by Nida from the Department of education, Stacey who is part of the nourishing our future team from Anglian ruskin university, Rachel our Early years inclusion partner and Luke & Michelle from well-being and public health
They came to see how we are supporting our children to make healthy food choices and the work we and the children are doing as part of the Nourishing our future research.
They really enjoyed chatting to the children and spending time with them in our growing area. The children showed them the fruit and vegetables they are growing
Luke and Michelle were amazed when a child told them that a pepper grows from a flower as she pointed out to them the small pepper that was growing. Stacey was amazed at the size of the radishes the children harvested and she joined them to have a taste.
They spent time with the children at lunch time chatting about the foods they like and watched the children preparing the fruit and vegetables at snack time.
They all loved Cheffie and Pickles our two chef bears that go home with the children to cook and have adventures with them and their families
Luke said the best quote of the day was when a child said to him "My favourite food is salad now"
