The apprenticeship sector is changing. The Department for Education (DfE), along with and the Department for Work and Pensions - DWP have introduced reforms to apprenticeships and end-point assessment delivery.

ELS’s role and responsibilities will change as we move from being an End-Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO) to an Assessment Organisation (AO).

Key changes include:

1. Integrated assessment: ‘apprenticeship assessment’ will replace ‘end-point
assessment’, where assessments can take place throughout the
apprentice’s programme.

2. Increased innovation: our role as an AO will involve designing and
developing our own assessment specification.

3. Increased collaboration: working with our partnered employers, providers
and apprentices to align our assessment design to their requirements.
