Students from across our Link classes have been working hard to improve and develop our horticulture area during their Work-Related Learning lessons. Throughout the, they have demonstrated dedication, resilience, teamwork, and leadership.
The students are determined to create a community garden that can be enjoyed by the whole school. So far, they have cleared and cleaned the area, planted seeds, transferred seedlings into the garden beds, organised the greenhouses, and transformed the space into a welcoming and attractive environment.
Their work is far from finished, so keep an eye out for future updates as the project continues to grow. Along the way, students have developed a wide range of practical skills and gained valuable experience in transferable workplace skills, preparing them for future opportunities.

This week’s Marvellous Monday goes to Chelsea and Leah.
Chelsea has shown remarkable dedication and teamwork: she provided outstanding support to her colleagues during the First Aid and CPR sessions; she helped create an environment where students felt confident, engaged, and eager to learn. Her caring, supportive, and flexible approach made a noticeable difference to everyone involved.
In her everyday role, Chelsea works tirelessly to ensure our students receive the very best health provision. The children adore her, and it’s clear why: she consistently gives her full energy, compassion, and expertise to make sure every child feels safe, cared for, and understood. Her commitment shines through in everything she does.
Then we have the amazing Leah! She brings a calm, steady presence to her classroom each day. Her resilience stands out; she approaches every situation with patience, positivity, and a warm smile that instantly puts others at ease.
She works closely with her class team, and together they create a supportive, uplifting environment where students feel happy and secure. Leah’s ability to stay composed, encouraging, and upbeat makes a real difference to both students and colleagues: her kindness and teamwork help the whole class community thrive.
Thank you both for everything you bring to our school; your hard work, compassion, and positivity make our academy a truly special place.

We have to be very aware of allergies at school. Some of our student learn about this in food lessons and complete qualifications to evidence their learning.
Here is a great "Need to know" for everyone.
While many allergies cause mild symptoms, some can lead to anaphylaxis, a serious and potentially life-threatening reaction.
This week’s guide helps parents, carers and educators understand the warning signs and feel more prepared to support children with allergies.
The guide covers:
• Key signs of anaphylaxis
• Symptoms linked to airway, breathing and circulation
• Common food allergens, including milk, eggs, fish, peanuts and sesame
• Non-food triggers such as pollen, insect venom and medication
• The role of adrenaline auto-injectors
Clear, practical awareness can help adults respond quickly and confidently when it matters most.

Congratulations to all the schools who took part in a fantastic week of work-related learning 🏆
Today Kai went for a blood test with Miss Natalie and his mum.
Kai’s nurse, Chris, attended from the Physical Health Team as we begin transitioning support for Kai’s medical needs over to them.
We are incredibly proud to report that Kai did amazingly well throughout the appointment, and Chris couldn’t have been prouder of him. Kai showed great courage and resilience, and this was a really positive step forward in supporting his growing independence with medical procedures.
