Northern Lights Initial Teacher Training will be hosting a Primary Teacher Training Taster session at Dame Dorothy Primary School on Tuesday 7th July, 9am–12:30pm. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in becoming a primary teacher to experience school life and find out more about the training programme. This morning, as part of the National Year of Reading, our KS2 children took part in a Premier League Primary Stars webinar about the importance of vocabulary and reading in sport. We even heard from Manchester United goalie Senne Lammens about why reading and vocabulary is useful for footballers as well as Countdown's Suzie Dent.

Back in February, we asked for help in securing Moki bands to help us become more active. We were blown away by the generosity of our parents and now every child in our school wears a Moki band every day. We are delighted to report that as it stands, we are currently 36th on Moki's GLOBAL leader board, demonstrating our children's commitment to being active! A healthy school is a happy school! We wonder if we can go even higher?

This year we received a grant of £500 from Tesco Stronger Starts for our Get Out and Grow project. Today Early Years have enjoyed starting to use the new gardening equipment and are excited to start planting later this week. Stay tuned for updates 🌻🌿🪴
