⭐ Celebrating Our Wonderful Teaching Assistants ⭐

This afternoon, during our special Star of the Week Assembly, we took the opportunity to celebrate our amazing Teaching Assistants and thank them for everything they do for our children and school community.

Our Teaching Assistants play such a vital role at St Aidan’s. They support learning, build children’s confidence, provide care and encouragement, and help every child to flourish each day. Their dedication, kindness and hard work never go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for the positive difference they make to the lives of our pupils.

Our wonderful Early Years Teaching Assistants enjoyed a separate celebration with Miss Hood and our youngest children, where they were also recognised for the incredible contribution they make every day. We were also missing a few members of our Teaching Assistant team this afternoon, but we will make sure their certificates are shared with them so that they know just how valued and appreciated they are.

Thank you to all of our fantastic Teaching Assistants. St Aidan’s is a better place because of you! 💚⭐️

🌊🌊🌊 WATER SAFETY REMINDER 🌊🌊🌊

As we approach the summer holidays, we know our families will be looking forward to making the most of this glorious weather at our local beaches! We would like to remind everyone to please be wary when in the water! Following these simple rules can help keep everyone safe:

⛱️ Only swim at Seaton Carew, where lifeguards are on duty daily from 10am to 6pm.
⛱️ Only enter the water between the red and yellow flags in the designated lifeguarded area.
⛱️ Always follow the advice of lifeguards.
⛱️ Never swim at Steetley Pier, North Sands or Crimdon Beach due to dangerous currents, deep water and underwater hazards.
⛱️ Keep children within sight and under close supervision.
⛱️ Do not use inflatables in the sea.
⛱️ In an emergency, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
⛱️ If someone is in trouble in the water, encourage them to float on their back and remain calm until help arrives.

The RNLI's "Float to Live" advice is also an important message to share:

🛟 Tilt your head back with your ears in the water.
🛟 Relax and control your breathing.
🛟 Move your arms and legs gently.
🛟 Stay calm until you can call for help or reach safety.

Thank you for your continued support in helping keep Hartlepool's children, young people and families safe.

🍐 New research reveals that parents will begin to feel the financial ‘pinch’ around week three of the summer break –

Morrisons and Kellogg’s have announced the return of their school holiday ‘Breakfast Clubs’, offering free meals to families across the UK to help ease the financial pressure over the summer holidays.

As schools close for the summer holidays, many parents face a financial pinch, with new research from Morrisons showing that more than half (54%) of parents feel the strain during the long summer period. In fact, “week three” of the school holidays is the critical tipping point where the financial impact is most acutely felt by households.

Almost half (48%) of parents also confessed they have been forced to skip meals entirely just to make ends meet and ensure their child does not go without – with breakfast being the number one thing cut from the menu.

Families visiting their local Morrisons Café throughout the summer holidays can enjoy a free ‘Kellogg’s Breakfast’, which includes a bowl of cereal and a portion of fruit. The best part, it’s not just for kids, adults get to eat completely free too.

Both kids and adults can choose from much-loved favourites Corn Flakes or Rice Krispies, topped with their choice of dairy or non-dairy milk and a free apple or banana. The summer holiday offer will be available from 29th June to 6th September across all Morrisons Cafes nationwide*.
