Calling all Parents and Carers! - Have some fun chatting science at home! Ask your child these science questions and see if they can include the keywords in their answer. It's a great way to boost learning - and you might learn something new too!

Over the past three weeks, eight talented Athletics students—Anabelle, Macie, Karson, Jack, Oliver, Grace, Shaun, Shiloh, John, Elly, and Violet—represented Hartlepool at the Cleveland School. Despite facing a demanding day following their earlier performances at the trust event, these students showcased incredible grit and determination, delivering outstanding results.

Congratulations to Elly, Jack, and Grace for advancing to represent Cleveland at the InterCounty Championships and excelling in their events. A special shoutout to Jack for qualifying for the English School Final in Hurdles. Best of luck, Jack! 👏🏆

Science club continues on a Monday. The new theme is potions based on Harry Potter until the end of the summer term. Come along and get involved.

Group A
France retake the lead in Group A with crucial win against Germany and Belgium's victory over league leaders Canada keeps them in contention for the knockout places. Portugal start a late surge and register 100% attendance for the day to breeze past England, who themselves posted a very respectable 96% figure. Well done to both of you.

Group B
Uzbekistan refuse to be moved from the top spot and remain one of only three teams in the competition with a perfect record of wins. Outstanding effort. Senegal pick up their fourth win and move into third, just one point behind second place Algeria. Massive shoutouts to Japan, Algeria, Uzbekistan, Egypt and Curacao who all had 100% attendance today - phenomenal. A shame the latter two teams played each other and only pick up 1 point each for the draw.

Group C
Austria keep hold of their perfect record and first place. They are firmly in the driving seat with three games to go. Columbia's fourth win moves them up to second, however, many teams are still in contention in this group so all to play for. Saudi Arabia's fifth defeat all but seals their hopes of reaching the knockout stages of the competition.

Group D
The pressure may have gotten to Jordan as they met a Scotland side who turned up in numbers today to log 100% attendance and take the three points. That moves up them to fifth place. Congo remain untouchable and log another 100% attendance. Turkey pick up their first win of the competition, however, their hopes of knockout football is now gone along with Czech Republic who are too far behind. A big three points for Sweden against knockout promotion rivals Uruguay moves them into third and closer to the knockout stages.

Yesterday was a day to be proud of for our Inter Girls Athletics team who took part in the English Schools A Final at York University today. They placed 6th in the North East Region - a fantastic achievement.

An added bonus for the Newcastle supporters in the team who got to meet ex player Callum Wilson who was very generous with his time.

Well done girls. On to the Hartlepool Town Championships on the 8th July 👏

AWC2026 - Matchday 5 Highlights.

Group A
A tight victory for France over Belgium secures the second place spot to themselves, however, another win for Canada keeps them in pole position. Germany climb three places to third. You can never write them off in a big tournament. Brazil secure the highest attendance of the day in Group A to narrowly beat England. Great work.

Group B
Algeria take advantage of Egypt's defeat to Qatar and move up to second, albeit, on average attendance score. Uzbekistan keep their perfect record unblemished and start to open up a gap at the top. Outstanding work. Morocco claim a couple of places as they ease past Croatia and pick up their third win. With only 3 points separating 2nd-6th, it is all to play for in this group.

Group C
Congratulations to Austria who make it five wins from five - excellent effort. Ivory Coast take advantage of Columbia dropping points to sneak into second place. And Tunisia pick up their second win and climb towards the middle of the table. Well done to South Korea who top the table on daily attendance figure in Group C with 96%, a figure that helps them beat close rivals Columbia. Lots to play for in this league still.

Group D
Uruguay's win against struggling Czech Republic keeps them firmly in the chase of the top two, however, there can be nothing but admiration for Congo and Jordan who both maintain their impressive run of form. What will happen when they go head to head on Friday? It could be time for the chasers to make up ground.

At the half way point, we have 4 teams with maximum wins, however, Uzbekistan and Algeria both have the highest attendance averages of the tournament, both in excess of 97% which is fantastic. Four games to go before we hit the knock outs. Keep up the great work everyone.
