🏆 LEAGUE: VS Bishop Auckland Girls U15s

Yesterday the girls played at home in another tough match. A couple weeks with challenging matches helped prepare the girls but yesterday would prove to be a tough one. The first half we came under fire, with Bishop taking the lead 1-0. A struggle to find our feet Bishop broke through slipping in their second 2-0 then their 3rd 3-0.
A disappointing first half we had to regroup.
The second half seen us come out stronger, more focused. Eliza would give us our first stepping stone with a fantastic goal, 3-1. Later Elly would follow and add, 2-0. A final team push from the girls towards the end gave us our draw 3-3.

Norton vs Pools Youth u11
We kicked off today’s game with real intent, working hard to create space, and our shape across the pitch was spot on, disciplined, organised, and confident. Throughout the match, our pinpoint passing was a real highlight, with some brilliant through balls wide or splitting the defence.

Norton put up a resilient performance, making it difficult for us to get into their half. Their balls from kick-ins made a real impact and we had to be switched on to every attack. We had to play smart to break through a well-organised midfield.

Every single player gave maximum effort, fighting to win every ball and to keep play out of our box. It was especially impressive to see our newer players step up and take control against tough opposition. Their work rate up the pitch and their close-knit team defending made a huge difference, showing their growth and commitment.

A special mention to Nyrelle, who came off the bench and made an immediate impact with a world-class goal from our own half. She controlled the ball, looked up, and let it fly. A truly memorable moment!

OGOTG, Esmee, delivered yet another solid performance, putting in 100% to win every challenge. She bossed the box, supporting her defensive partners and helping them learn and progress game after game.

GOTG goes to Eva, who had a fantastic day in goal. Her confidence grows week by week, and today she played out from the back with real composure, spotting passes quickly and distributing the ball accurately to set up our attacks.

Finally, a huge congratulations to Amelia—our Player of the Month! She’s had an incredible start to the season, scoring 18 goals in just 6 games, assisting in almost as many, and supporting every player on the pitch. Her drive, determination, and teamwork are truly inspiring. Today Amelia quickly spotted she had space from a kick-in tight in the corner. With 2 touches, the right boot wrapped around the ball, and it was smashed into the top of the net from an almost impossible angle.

A brilliant team effort today—well done, everyone! Let’s keep this momentum going!

💙⚽️PY U10 girls v Guisborough Town🤍⚽️

We faced a new team in the league this morning, so it was difficult to know what to expect. We told the girls to concentrate on what we do well and play with confidence and make sure we competed for every ball.

They really stepped up and produced a very positive performance.

The girls started brightly and looked comfortable on the ball, putting together some lovely pass and move pieces. There were some excellent combinations, good movement off the ball and plenty of moments where they showed just how much their football is developing.

We were also really pleased with the work without the ball. The girls defended as a team, worked hard to win possession back and didn’t give up when they had to defend. There were some great challenges, good tracking back and plenty of determination throughout.

At the other end, they created chance after chance and probably could have added a few more to the scoreline.

What’s really encouraging is how much more confident the girls look as a group. They’re beginning to gel together as a team.

Plenty of positives to take away and lots more for them to build on!

Middlesbrough Girls 0 - PYFC U16 Blues 3

A cracking result this morning against a strong and physical Middlesbrough Girls.

Both teams went straight at it from the off with Pools having the lions share of possession pressing hard keeping Boro on the back foot.

Impressive and composed link-up from the midfield allowed a number of chances on goal with the visitors either just wide of the mark or denied by a good Boro keeper.

It wasn’t long though before the ball found the feet of Tilly in the 8’ who’d been hunting and driving forwards to smash it over the keeper from just inside 18yds for 0-1. (Beautiful that Tills 🤝).

Within a minute from restart it was the 18yds mark again this time with Super Kenz taking a touch to tee it up and smash it over the keeper for back of the net 0-2 (lovely Kenz 🦸‍♀️ 👏🏻).

A rallying home team started to ask big questions from the Pools defence with tricky through-balls, but a disciplined Pools back line played them off snuffing out the attacks 🫡. Good solid work by sweeper and keeper mopped up any that got through with a stand out save by Sophier coming off the line to face down the deadly one on one keeping the clean sheet going into HT. 👏🏻

With both sides suffering heavy fatigue the second half would be determined by pure grit.

As Boro came out fighting looking to punch through it took every inch of a Pools’s defensive mid-field and defenders to tame the intensity until momentum could start to build.

One of many cracking runs from Millie Vanilli thundering down the middle set the stage for Pools’s third when a colossal save by keeper meeting Millie outside 6yds saw a rebound into the path of Tilly who tucked it away in clinical fashion. 0-3 (fabulous girls fabulous 👏🏻 👏🏻).

As both teams admirably battled on with heavy limbs a strike from captain fantastic Elynn just whistling over the cross bar saw Boro lucky not to concede a fourth. The dying minutes were spent with Pools back on the hunt for more, but at the final whistle blow the scoreline remained static with Pools taking the 3 points away from home.

Well done girls absolute quality today each and every one of you contributed to the win. Couldn’t be prouder 🫡
Special shout out to Arabella for a spectacular debut this morning. Keep that standard kiddo🤝

Also a special mention to Tilly struggling through off the back of sickness to still rock up and produce 2 goals. 🫡

GOTG: For an outstanding shift in Midfield creating, defending and leading the way Elynn 👏🏻

OPP GOTG: As chosen by Boro Vivienne. 👏🏻
Well done girls.

U16 Yellows 3-1 Newton Aycliffe

Another tough game for our girls this morning, against an Aycliffe team that had won all 4 games so far this season. Lovely morning and venue for the game, and the girls were in a great mood from the start, they are all enjoying their football at the minute.

Aycliffe started well and put us under plenty of pressure early on, without really testing Amy too much. The back 4 of Liv, Maisie T, Micah & Lillie-Rae were absolutely outstanding all game and weathered the early pressure. We know how good we are in attack and Bella fed Mia with a defence splitting pass, Mia absolutely planted it past the keeper from a tight angle to give us the lead and calm us down ⚽️. This changed the game and both teams had some good moments, but it was Aycliffe that found the equaliser midway through the half. The Yellows were enjoying the game and challenge though and managed to get into the lead before half time, some great work in the middle from Bella and Lilly got Mia through on goal and a slip from the keeper made it a little easier for Mia to grab her 2nd of the game ⚽️.
HT 2-1

The 2nd half was like a basketball game, end to end and both teams going for the 3 points. The game was so open but again we defended superbly and the midfield were working so hard to limit Aycliffes chances. Amy made a point blank save at 2-1 which was typical of her bravery, unbelievable save and the home coaches were pulling their hair out with how good a game our No.1 was having. PY created plenty as well, Maisie F, Lucy and Lilly all coming close before Maisie F played a lovely ball through for Mia, who planted one top bins to see the game out and keep us unbeaten so far this season ⚽️. We only had 12 available today and they all came off that pitch absolutely shattered, all worked their socks off for the win and for each other. Brilliant to watch. 👏 FT 3-1

OGOTG - Amy, always in the right place at the right time to make saves look so easy and the point blank save at 2-1 helped us win the game, another solid performance. 🏆

GOTG - TEAM, impossible for us to pick 1 player this morning. They were all brilliant, and all enjoyed the game today. 🏆 👏
