✨ Year 3/4 Maths Celebration! ✨

Year 3 and 4 took part in an exciting Zoom lesson to celebrate the mathematician Muhammad al Fulani πŸ“š

During the session, the children challenged themselves with a variety of fun maths puzzles and problem-solving activities πŸ”’πŸ§© They showed fantastic teamwork, perseverance, and enthusiasm throughout!

✨ Science Fun in Year 3/4! ✨

This week, we’ve been exploring the fascinating world of light 🌟

We learned that light travels in straight lines, helping us understand how we see things and how shadows are made.

The children had great fun making their own periscopes πŸ” and discovering how mirrors reflect light β€” even allowing us to see around corners!

We also investigated different materials and sorted them into:
β€’ Transparent – lets light through πŸ‘“
β€’ Translucent – lets some light through 🌫️
β€’ Opaque – blocks light πŸšͺ

A fantastic week full of curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning! πŸ‘

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§βš½ What a fantastic result for England! βš½πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Last night, England kicked off their World Cup campaign with an exciting 4–2 win! πŸŽ‰

Our wonderful EYFS children had been busy preparing ahead of the game by making their very own flags and getting into the team spirit 🌟

Well done England – we’re so proud and can’t wait for the next match! β€οΈπŸ€πŸ’™

Come on England!

This will be the last drop in of the academic year and will resume again in September.

No diagnosis is needed to attend. It is an opportunity for parent carers to meet with services to discuss any concerns they may have with their children.

We had a lovely visit to church with Reverend Janet for Holy Communion, where we received the bread and wine.

We spent time reflecting on the story of Jesus calming the storm, and thought about how the disciples must have felt as they asked, "What kind of man is Jesus?"

It was a special time of worship, reflection and learning together.

Year 1 and 2 had a fantastic time at Hardwick Park as part of their Geography fieldwork.
They found lots of physical and human geographical features at the park and produced great sketch maps. πŸ—ΊοΈ
They also found lots of examples of wild plants and animals that they have been learning about in Science.🐿️🌱

Our Year 6 pupils attended the Durham Leavers' service at Durham Cathedral.

It was wonderful opportunity for them to worship and reflect on their time in primary and how they might 'let their light shine' as they prepare to move on.

Years 5 and 6 are currently investigating the strategic and historical reasons behind the repeated invasions of Northern England. Pupils have shown a keen interest in the Norman era, sparking excellent classroom discussions about William the Conqueror and the historical significance of the Bayeux Tapestry. πŸ—‘οΈπŸΉ
