🌊🏊🏼Year 6 Swim Safe Adventure! πŸ–οΈπŸŒž
Some of our fantastic Year 6 pupils had an amazing time at Seaton Carew taking part in a Swim Safe session led by the brilliant teams from RNLI and Swim England πŸš€πŸ‘πŸΌ
The children learned vital water safety skills, including how to stay safe at the beach, what to do in an emergency, and how to help themselves and others in open water πŸ’™πŸ›Ÿ They showed great enthusiasm, confidence and teamwork throughout the session – we are so proud of them all! ⭐
A huge thank you to RNLI and Swim England for providing such an engaging and important experience for our pupils! πŸ™ŒπŸ½
Take a look at some of our photos to see the fun and learning in action! πŸ“ΈπŸ˜Š

Today, PC Coggins delivered an engaging assembly about artificial intelligence (AI), explaining how AI can be an helpful tool for learning, creativity, and everyday tasks when used responsibly. However, he also warned about the risks, including misinformation, scams, and sharing personal data online.
Top tips we learnt:
βœ… Always check information from reliable sources
πŸ”’ Never share personal details with AI tools or strangers online
πŸ€” Think critically about what you see or generate
🚫 Don’t use AI to cheat, harm others, or spread false information
πŸ—£οΈ Speak to a trusted adult if something online feels wrong
It was a really useful session that reminded everyone how to use AI safely while understanding the possible dangers.

🎬✨ Stop Motion Animations! ✨🎬
During computing with Miss AllisonπŸ‘©πŸΌβ€πŸ«πŸ“š, Class 5LR explored the exciting world of stop motion animation through a fun and creative challenge πŸŽ₯🎨. They were tasked with transforming a simple ball of play dough 🟣 into something new β€” and then returning it back to its original shape πŸ”„!
Pupils carefully planned their ideas πŸ“πŸ’‘ before capturing a sequence of images πŸ“Έ, learning how small, gradual changes can create smooth and engaging animations πŸŽžοΈπŸ‘. The challenge encouraged them to think creatively 🎭, problem-solve πŸ§ πŸ”, and pay close attention to detail πŸ‘€βœ¨.
Please watch their fantastic animations πŸŽ₯🌈 showing a wide range of inventive transformations on display. Each animation showed the pupils’ creativity, patience, and growing technical skills πŸš€πŸ› οΈ.
They showed a real sense of togetherness 🀝❀️ and all achieved a sticker on their passport 🟠. Well done, 5LR! πŸŒŸπŸ‘πŸΌπŸŽ‰

β˜€οΈWarm Weather Safety Reminder – Stay Safe Near Water 🌊🏊🏼
As we head into a hot weekend, we’d like to remind all families about the dangers of open water such as the sea, rivers and lakes.
Water may look calm, but it can be very cold, have strong currents, and hidden hazards. Even confident swimmers can quickly get into difficulty.
Please talk to your children about staying safe:
βœ”οΈ Always supervise children near water
βœ”οΈ Avoid swimming in open water unless it is a supervised, lifeguarded area
βœ”οΈ Never jump into unknown water – there may be hidden dangers
βœ”οΈ In an emergency, call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard

This week is Drowning Prevention Week (13–20 June 2026) – a national campaign helping children learn how to enjoy water safely.
