Today, Year 1 and and 2 have had a visitor in class talking about the importance of brushing our teeth. We discussed some foods that contain sugar and we were surprised by the amount. We were shown clearly how to brush our teeth and why we need to brush them twice a day.

In our art lesson today, year 3/4 had to explain the definition of art . We also discussed how anyone can be an artist through determination and creativity. The children created their own dotted tree using bright colors by using the end of their paintbrush to create a “dot” effect and fine dot-strokes for the grass . They done a fantastic job . The pictures turned out beautiful .

This week, Year 1 and 2 have had our school nurse visit, discussing the importance of hand washing. In English, we have been writing questions about the Antarctica and finding out more information to write for our fact file. In RE, we have been discussing the story of Noah and the meaning behind a promise. We have also discussed how creation can be expressed through many different ways.

In our year 5/6 Art lesson today , the children had to create split face portraits of famous people using shading and tone. They also designed an abstract pattern for the background . They are amazing ! Well done year 5/6.

On Monday , a group of years 5/6 attended a play leaders course at Seaton Carew Cricket Club. They took part in a variety of non-traditional playground games (such as skip ropes and target games).They were shown how to deliver clear instructions , cooperate as a team and all about fairness. We are looking forward to the play leaders showing all of our children lots of new games during lunchtimes.
