🎄🎅🎶 Lewis, 8, has been focusing on theory work this year, as well as introducing his 'fourth finger' to replace 'open strings'. He has worked hard to prepare this Christmas song, with no written instructions and perform, whilst being accompanied - not an easy thing to do!

🎄🎅🎶 A massive thank you to Lewis for his commitment and hard work during and in between our weekly sessions and to the support and encouragement from his mum and family throughout this year.

🎄🎅🎶 Sending best wishes to everyone through the Christmas period.

🎶🎹👻 Katie Mitchell has been working very hard this year on Grade 5 Piano.

🎶🎹👻 The music in this video allows the listener to appreciate a few techniques included within the grading, such as complex bass riffs on left hand, while alternate rythmn can be heard in the melody. Octave stretches throughout and some pedal work with a good pace, allows the listener to engage and enjoy the well know Halloween track.

🎶🎹👻 To be able to play such contrasting parts with both hands at the same time at only 11 years old, shows Katie's commitment to her studies.

🎶🎶 Massive Congratulations to Olivia on gaining a high Merit for Grade 1 Piano 🎶🎶

🎶Olivia initially came for lessons as she was keen just to be able to play her favourite artists songs and quickly showed aptitude and ability to undertake grading. Olivia applies herself not only during our half hour weekly session, but also in between sessions and has very quickly demonstrated her understanding and ability to perform at a high level. A very hard working and conscientious young lady, I look forward to working with Olivia as she undertakes the next challenge in her musical journey - very well done!

🎶🎹 Sam has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement this week in recognition of his dedication to practice between his 30 minute weekly sessions.

🎶🎹 Sam lives in Washinton DC and we meet weekly at 9pm UK time on line, which is not an easy way to learn an instrument!

🎶🎹 Sam is a very good listener, is able to correct himself by ear, gaining an understanding of the concept of how to follow sheet music and building up his knowledge of chord progressions with his left hand, in able to accompany his melody on the right.

🎶🎹 Sam, who is 9, began lessons in November last year and shows a keen interest in the John Williams scores. Working on his third piece, after only 15 sessions, Sam's focus is to bring fluency to his performance and then re-vist his first and second piece, to bring them together to play each throughout with confidence.

🎶🎹 Massive Congratulations to Rory who gained a Distinction for Grade 3 Piano 🎹

🎶 Rory continues to improve each block by taking on board what's covered during lessons, undertaking new approaches to challenges that arise throughout a higher grading. To have an interest and being able to play an instrument and then being assessed on your performance, can be a pivotal time. But Rory showed determination and really focused on challenging himself, which resulted in his Distinction grading.

🎶 I very much look forward to continuing with Rory's musical journey..congratulations again!

🎶🎹 Massive Congratulations to Maria for achieving Distinction in Grade 3 Piano.

🎶🎹 Maria lives in Washington and we meet at 9pm UK time for our weekly session. This is not an easy way to learn in any field, but learning piano brings even more challenges.

🎶🎹 Maria is 11 and achieved this certificate with only studying Grade 3 for 6 months!
