We’re excited to be hosting a Parent Craft Workshop with Hannah Rae Arts! Join us for a relaxed and creative session where you’ll learn a simple craft that you can take home and enjoy making with your children. It’s also a lovely opportunity to meet and socialise with other parents and carers, enjoy some time together and try something creative in a relaxed setting.

Hannah will guide you through making colourful friendship bracelets using simple techniques that children can also enjoy at home.

🎓 Learning never stops at Coppice Valley!

Today’s INSET day saw staff getting stuck into StepLab, our Trust-wide approach to developing teaching through deliberate practice and rehearsal.
We were also delighted to welcome Chris Parkhouse, Director of Attendance and Safeguarding, who joined us for the morning and added some great insights to the day.
Lots of practising, plenty of laughs, and a shared focus on getting even better for our pupils. 💙

At Forest School, Little Ferns shared the story ‘I see a Tree’. We learned about the lifecycle of a tree and considered what we find on the woodland floor in Autumn. We made our own nature collection.

We had a squirrel visitor at Little Ferns that seems to like nature collections too! The children watched in amusement as he crept onto our nature collection and made off with our conkers over the fence! Nature in action!

In Maths this week Little Ferns have been exploring and building using different shapes and objects in play. We have considered shape, position and size in our constructions and puzzles.

The children also showed super resilience when models didn’t quite balance and they had to make adaptations to improve their structure.

We had some excellent mathematic language too:
“I need a long rectangle. I need another cube. I need a long one.”
“This doesn’t balance. I need another one under it.”

We are so grateful to the team for teaching our children about the importance of staying safe around water in such a fun, practical and memorable way. 💙👏

🧸🍊Beech Class Maths! 🍊🧸

Today Mrs Riley invited the children to bring in a teddy bear for a very special Teddy Bears’ Picnic! 🧺🐻 As we enjoyed our picnic together, we explored the mathematical language fewer, more and the same. There was so much wonderful conversation, thinking and understanding! 💭✨ The children were super excited to eat “real food” and had lots of opportunities to develop those important fine motor skills too. 🍓🥪🤲

So much engagement, enthusiasm and involvement in our maths learning today! 🌟
