St John's Pre-School

No rest for us!!! We've all had a brilliant day learning Makaton with Makaton Training with Heather . We can't wait to put what we've learnt into practice ☺️

🐝 This week, the children learnt all about bees and graduated from "Bee School". We celebrated with a delicious treat of honey on toast. 🍯🍞 We also had an incredible day at Birchfield ice cream farm, where the children loved feeding the lambs, meeting the goats and huge pigs, and headed out on a tractor ride! 🚜🐑The children were fantastic on the trip, they all behaved so well. We were very proud of them all!!

Wishing everyone a fantastic and fun-filled half term break. We can’t wait to see you all when we reopen on Monday, June 8th! ✨

What a fabulous couple of weeks we’ve had at St John's! 🌿✨ We've created beautiful windchimes for the garden, and become little scientists watching our seeds sprout roots and shoots in their bags. 🌱
🏃‍♀️💃 We found our rhythm during our dance class with Leah, followed by a brilliant TinyBeats Harrogate and Knaresborough session. We loved exploring the "frogspawn" and hunting for hidden minibeasts in the slime! 🐸🔍 It’s been a total blast🎶🌱✨

To the man who taught us about 'all the things'—thank you. Thank you for your voice, your passion, and your lifelong dedication to our natural world. You have inspired generations of 'mini-explorers' here at St John's Preschool and across the globe. Happy 100th Birthday! 🌈🐾"

🌿 We’ve loved continuing our wildlife topic this week!! We were very excited seeing the first peas and carrot seedlings popping up in the veg trug. 🫘 We also got messy and creative with Natalie, using balloons to make wonderful caterpillar prints and we've planted our own seeds to take home too! 🎈🐛
We have enjoyed welcoming our parents for a "Stay and Play" sessions—it was so much fun sharing what we do at Preschool with Mummys and Daddys. 👣✨

What a busy week we had🌟 The children worked hard mastering their fine motor skills by threading bead caterpillars 🐛. Outside they challenged themselves by conquering new heights on the climbing frame! 🧗‍♂️
​Our helpful Laundry Club was back in action, taking their jobs very seriously as they loaded up the washing machines—it’s never too early to learn those life skills! 🧺🧼 We also enjoyed a "roarsome" TinyBeats Harrogate and Knaresborough session where the children had a fun dressing up as dinosaurs. 🦖✨

What a wonderful first week back! 🌟
The children have absolutely loved exploring our brand-new outdoor space, with the new water channels being a massive hit. 🌊✨ We’ve also had a fantastic time learning all about the life cycle of a frog with Beth! 🐸 We have planted some peas and carrots and enjoyed a trip out to our local charity shop. Lots of fun!!!
It’s been so lovely to see everyone settling back in with such curiosity and excitement. 🌳🌷

What a fantastic way to wrap up a wonderful term! 🐣 We’ve had a blast celebrating all things Easter—from getting creative with egg decorating and Easter baking to an Easter themed TinyBeats Harrogate and Knaresborough session. 🎶 A huge well done to the children for their incredible Easter bonnets and for walking so well during our sponsored walks! 🚶‍♂️💨

🦖 This week we’ve been busy using our brushes to uncover hidden fossils in the sand 🦴 and we were over the moon to get mail back from the dinosaurs! ✉️ We also got creative with handprint shamrocks ☘️ and baked some delicious rainbow buns. 🧁🌈 We hope all the children are geared up and excited for our Easter Sponsored Walks next week! 🐣👟

It’s been a week of dinos and deliciousness! 🦕 We’ve been busy preparing our own history museum ( opening soon!!) and stomping dinos through different textures. To help fuel our learning, we all enjoyed making, and eating, pancakes with Emily at her pro pancake flipping masterclass! 🥞✨
