What a wonderful morning meeting so many of our prospective Reception 2027 starters and their families!

It was lovely to welcome you into our school, show you around and share a little of what makes our school such a special place to learn, grow and thrive.

We have had lots of practical learning in Year 1 over the last week. We have been using ten frames, cubes and dice in maths to find one less. We also had a go at making 'messy maps' in Geography to map out our classroom. We worked in partners or small groups for these activities and showed great teamwork!

This week, Year 3 have been learning all about Fair Trade! We explored what Fair Trade means and why it is important to make sure farmers and workers are paid fairly for the food and products they produce. We also discovered how Fair Trade helps farmers receive a fairer price for their hard work, supporting them, their families and their communities. 🌱🤝

Members of Year 6 volunteered to roll up their sleeves to clear fallen apples from the playground and church car park. 🍎
Pope Francis taught us to care for our common home. By looking after the spaces we share, the children put his message into action and showed our school virtue of service. Thank you, Year 6! 💜💛

Be Internet Legends! 🌐
Year 6 joined our Back to School Be Internet Legends assembly and explored four ways to stay safe online: Be Alert, Be Smart, Be Kind and Be Brave. 💻
The children thought about checking whether something online is genuine, thinking before they share, treating others with kindness and speaking to a trusted adult when something doesn’t feel right. Great advice for the year ahead! 🌟

Year 6 Lead Our Start of School Year Mass 🕯️
Year 6 helped lead our Start of School Year Mass at St Joseph’s Church, bringing our school community together in prayer as we begin a new year. ⛪
After Mass, the children lit candles and took a quiet moment to pray for their own intentions. It was a lovely opportunity to reflect on the people and hopes they carry in their hearts. 🕯️💜

🏐 Dodgeball fun for Year 4! 🏐

Yesterday, our Year 4 pupils had a fantastic morning taking part in a Dodgeball Festival, organised by Sporting Influence!

There was plenty of teamwork, enthusiasm, laughter and lots of fun as everyone got stuck in and gave it their best shot!

A huge thank you to New Park Primary Academy for being such wonderful hosts and to Sporting Influence for organising such a brilliant event!

Year 1 have been completing lots of different challenges in our classroom this week!
They have been:
- Using tweezers to sort objects by colour, developing their fine motor skills and concentration.
- Ordering pictures from the Creation story, helping them to remember and sequence what God made.
- Ordering numbers forwards and backwards, building confidence with number sequences.
It has been lovely to see the children engaging with their challenges and working hard to complete them independently!

🌟 Year 6 Leaders in the Making! 🌟
Year 6 have begun exploring the exciting leadership roles available to them this year! The children carefully read the different job descriptions before working together to discuss the responsibilities, qualities and skills needed for each role.
They also thought of thoughtful questions they wanted to ask before our whole-class discussion—making sure they fully understood how each role could help them serve our school community. There was plenty of enthusiastic conversation as they considered where their own strengths might shine! 💬✨
We cannot wait to see our young leaders step forward with confidence, courage and a willingness to serve others. 💜💛
