Traditions are an important part of Christmas, whether it’s a visit to the pantomime, making decorations and decorating the tree, or enjoying time with family and friends.

Explore the traditions of Christmas. Creating those memories together during cold winter days.

Learn through play - everything in the box you need (including scissors)

🌲🎄🌲NATIONAL TREE WEEK🌲🎄🌲

National Tree Week is the UK’s largest annual tree celebration, running from Saturday 27 November to Sunday 5 December. Across the country, people will be planting thousands of trees to mark the start of the winter tree planting season.

🌲With this in mind our Christmas activity box is now available to order. In each box there are seeds to plant your very own Christmas tree.

🎄This seed will not be ready for this Christmas, but will grow as your child grows.

Half term activities at Little Bees - come and join in the fun!

Throughout the week we will be painting, making and creating a variety of Halloween activities.

World Ocean Day promotes the importance of protecting the ocean. A healthy planet needs a healthy ocean. The oceans face huge risks from plastic pollution, climate change and overfishing.

Why is the Ocean important to us?

🦈The ocean generates a lot of oxygen which we need to breathe
🐠It provides food around the world
🦀It regulates the climate
🐳It provides work opportunities for thousands of people
🐠It is home to trillions of fish and sea creatures

Too much plastic is being dumped into the ocean. We need to use less single-use plastic and we must find other ways to get rid of plastic waste. We also need to reduce water pollution so we can protect the ocean, its inhabitants and, in turn, protect the opportunities for those who work there.🐟

Open a conversation with your child about today as you make a hat shaped as a crab, inside our June box. Small conversations can develop into a bigger understanding.... nurture and grow your child's understanding today to create a better tomorrow!

I have fond memories of reading ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ to children in Singamajigs classes over the years of teaching.

Happy times, creating memories 🐛🐛🐛

THOUGHTS FOR THURSDAY

I was saddened to hear the news that Eric Carle the author of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ had died this week.

There were many books that I read to my children when they were little. The books by Eric Carle that we shared had and still have a special place. Mainly as these were books my Mum had shared with me and I was able to share with my children too!

Sharing stories and reading together create really special memories.

These books hold such beautiful illustrations and stories about hope..... 🐛🐛

This is also why you will find a little hungry paper chain caterpillar in our Minibeast box.....

Next month for June we will be Under the Sea.... I'm really not sure if I should start building an ark with all of the rain we have had this week, this topic does feel appropriate for this season.
